Just back from a ride today and wanted to let out a couple of clicks of compression getting on to a techy descent. When I did this the compression nob came off in my hand, with the bolt holding this in seeming to have sheared. At this point, they also locked out compression (read: felt like shit) and I was stuck on a road ride home there.
Took em to the bike shop (who admit MRP forks aren't there strong point) and they fitted a new bolt onto the compression nob, which didn't do anything and just span at that point. After telling me the best option is to bin them and get some coil forks, they gave them one last go with tightening this new screw in, and something engaged and they're now off full compression and feeling super smooth again. Great!
Obviously though, something internal has gone wrong, and whilst sending it down every stairset/big kerb I could see on the way home doesn't seem to have affected them, does anyone know if anything about these forks are salvageable or worth fixing? Or will they need a new cartridge, and therefore should I just ride them til they die and replace them?

Service manuals are online or as above Ison or MRP, sounds like they'll need to go to Ison though. If you're chucking them in the bin I'll have em!
With advice like that I’d be more inclined to bin the LBS than the forks.
By there own admission they don’t know and can’t fix MRP kit yet strangely they are happy to relive you of multiple £££ for coil forks... let me guess, they had them in stock.
Hey gotbike, firstly if you get in touch with MRP directly then I'm sure they will be in touch pretty quickly as they are very very good at customer service. I had a few issues with my stage when i first got it and weirdly enough i ended up on a conference call with both Noah Sears and the CEO (cannot remember his name) as they hadaf few problems with other forks and were trying tog get to the bottom of the issue.
Also if my LBS told me to bin them and get a set of coils i would be looking for a new LBS pretty sharpish.
Good luck on getti.g them sorted but i really believe MRP are one of the best companies to deal with out there.
Thanks for all the advice guys, I'll definitely send an email to MRP when I can clearly say what happened to the forks - hopefully they can give a bit more insight in to what went wrong.
That probably came off a bit badly on the LBS, they were more just having a rant about how much can go wrong on air forks and the simplicity of coil forks rather than actually saying the forks were completely shot! They weren't trying to sell me anything as they're more of a workshop setup and don't carry much stock.

I got some lovely new MRP coil forks last week as it happens. There's a LSC knob on them funnily enough, just like the air ones they replaced.
Get them to someone who has a clue. Your 'mechanic' should stick to pumping up tyres and swapping cables, or get trained.
Bedmaker, im waiting for a set of Ribbon coils. How are you finding them?
@ Mactheknife - They are great, as are the air ones. The coils just hug the ground that little bit better, really plush. The damping is just so good on the MRPs. I worried slightly that the coil would be a bit linear and divey. Not so, the damping gives great support.
I went for the shorter offset model as I have them on a very slack bike. The difference is pretty subltle really, but noticeable in a good way.
Very pleased with them.
