Anyone got experience?

I'm riding a Capra 29 Al frame (used, no warranty) which ive got a longer stroke ohlins coil shock on for 170mm rear travel and a fox 36 160mm up front. While this doesn't feel bad at all i've bottomed the fork heavily many times (it's set up right). As I understand it a single crown 170mm fork is equal in length to c.185mm dual crown.

I mainly ride DH and freeride, but I do pedal about a bit as well. Couldn't care less about weight, any reason not to do it?

Check the frame can take the extra leverage. Instead of the forks flexing at the crown, if the frame isn't strong enough, the head tube may shear off instead.

Pretty sure the 2019 Capras are rated for a dual crown. Are the Alu ones not?

Don't think so but would just but some protection on the frame for the stanchions

No useful contribution, but it sounds like the bike's crying out for a 180mm fork anyway.

And please post pics if you do it.
