Anyone run an MRP 2x on an Blurry Truck?

[img] [/img]

Is there enough clearance etc.? Would be run with an XT double (28-40) chainset.

Cheers,
Dave

My research suggested it was nigh on impossible to get a 2x chain device to work on my Blur LTc cos of the bottom pivot, I ended up going 1x10. Maybe same issue on TRc?

@Mad Pierre - how much do you want, and is it white?

Have a look at the Bionicon V2 guide.

I've got one on my Uzzi, which is equally busy around the BB area, after fighting for ages with a Stinger, which got bent every time I bounced it off a rock.

Its pretty good actually - not draggy, very quiet, dead light, pretty cheap and most importantly I haven't dropped a chain yet.

I haven't actually had a problem with dropping the chain yet, but I thought i'd consider my options.

can't say I particularly like the look of those chainstay dangling thingies, but I'll bear it in mind, cheers.

Dave

I'd have a look at the MTBR forum on Santa Cruz, there's bound to be some feedback on there.

I'm also considering a chain device for my ASR5C. Although I've opted for a Shadow+ mech first to see if this makes a difference before taking the plunge.

The chain device I'd targeted to run in conjunction with my XT 2x10 (26-38) was the E13 TRS+. There are two variants, one with a bash guard, which I'm not that bothered about, and one without:

BB mounted option, which I'd need too, plus it comes in white.

@KOB, is the e13 a roller, or two jockey wheels like the MRP? Hard to tell from the CRC pics.

@alfabus think it's a roller

@alphabus

No it's black:

36-38T BB mount. The plastic parts on this are all brand new and unused. Only the back plate and jockey wheels have been used. I've flushed out and replaced the grease in the bearings of the jockey wheels so this thing is like new. Boxed with instructions and washers for all configurations. £65 posted.

My email is in profile if you can overcome your colour issues

thanks, but I'd need the bigger size (running a 40t ring), so I have an real reason to back up my narcissism.

Cheers anyway,
Dave

AS Above, I run Bionicon V2 guide and an XTR Shadow+ rear mech on my TRC to avoid dropping chain into that nice carbon BB housing... works well and is very quite, especially due to the shadow +

If the 2X is the same as the X-Guide (looks like it), it was a close fit on my Nomad. The pulley had to ride so low that it was not giving much tension. That was with an X0 2x10 set up with 39/26 rings so the big ring pushes the pulley quite close to the chain stay.

Mine destroyed itself in the end. The front plate on the X-Guide is fragile and after a bit of chain suck it cracked and fell apart. Seen customer reviews saying a similar thing. The two pulley cogs I found also would let the chain pull off the big ring when I didn't want it to. Expensive kit and it's just a bash and tensioner basically.

Oh and for those considering ISCG ones with taco bash on SC bikes, note that SC don't recommend it as they won't warranty it due to landing the bash on rocks. They'll still warranty the frame for other things once you've bust the tabs as they think you might.

There's a list of compatible chain guides on the sc uk site.
