I am getting a Titanium Travers frame made and the frame is boost, but they don't usually do front mech frames, but for my own reasons I want to run 2 X

I want to use a side swing front XT mech, but I have no idea whether the mechs are boost or can I just buy a band clamp which will enable me to mount the mech so that the frame builder doesn't have to worry about it?

I have a side swing front XT mech on my Pact. AFAIK there is no specific "Boost" model. FWIW I have cable routing down the front of the downtube. The only thing that might stymie you is placement of any bottle cage bosses. Make sure they don't interfere with where the band goes round the tube. Let me know if you need some measurements.

I am going to get them to run the cable integrated into the downtube so that should hopefully get around the bottle mount issue.

If you have a model number that would be helpful. Did you buy a band mount clamp or did the frame come with a direct mount on it?

The chainline of the M7000 SLX I have purchased is 53.4mm

Nah - I meant where the band for the mech goes around the seat tube. If you have seat tube bottle cage bosses, make sure they're not in the wrong place.

I'm using the XT M8020 Direct Mount mech, with a Problem Solvers (IIRC) Direct Mount adapter.

Good point and I'm glad I posted the question as I hadn't considered that. Thanks

Im using a deore side swing FM on my karate monkey, i had to space my (non boost) double chainset out by one spacer to make it clear the chainstay.
My chainset is actually a triple, with the big ring removed, leaving me 22/32 rings.
Works really well.

Ok thanks. I've gone for a 24/34 c/set so it looks like I can just use a low clamp band mount side swing front mech.

Apologies for the questions, but do either of you know whether for boost you would need the FD-M8000-L which is for 3 * 11 where as the FD-M8000-L is for 2 x 11?

I don’t even know which one mine is tbh, I’ve had it 2 years so can’t remember.

FD-M8020-L is for all 2 x 11 systems.
