I know a few people on here have asked about mountain biking in majorca before,so i thoughr id post about todays ride with mallorca mountain biking. Link below:-

http://www.mallorcamountainbiking.com/

Theyre based in palma. We booked a days uplift with bike hire, the bikes we got were canyon strives, the cost was 90 euros for a days guiding, uplifts and bike hire. They picked us up from the hotel in the van and off we went.

Theres not many uplift companies in majorca and these guys are pretty new to majorca (but not guiding, having worked as guides in the malaga area before ) but the guiding and uplift was great, the trails were really good, typical rocky stuff , as easy or hard as you might want, they can tailor it to you.

They can do just one day uplifts, or if you want they can do full weeks including accomodation etc.

They told me they can also do xc days, and road riding days, but i got the impression that uplift was their thing.

Ive been biking in malaga, bubion, portugal, tenerife, finale etc, and although i only had 1 day the trails we rode were all pretty good, ranging from 1.5 miles to 5 miles long, from 2500 foot descent to 500 foot, minimal climbing.

Anyway id recommend them if you fancy some off road riding in mallorca.

Ninety euros sounds like a total bargain. Might look into that if my dad trip in October goes awry.

Sounds great! I did a few days of trail hunting in Mallorca on a hire Spectral and thought the terrain was amazing for riding. Am taking my bike with me next time!

Good to know, I'm off to Majorca in October and have a pink pass for a day on a bike.

I've ridden with Simon and Josh when they were working in Malaga.

Both excellent guides. Simon in particular is a great coach and managed to get my fiance riding some tricky stuff.

I'm off to Bubion in October for first time, never thought of Majorca, would Majorca have been a better choice ?

No i think bubion is the better choice, i think it has more trails and is better as a result of many years of lots of people riding there and the development the trails have had.   Its early days for majorca, but if they can develop the trails in the same way they have in bubion it could be world class.

The trails in majorca were great, and i only did 1 days riding but i get the impression there are not yet as many as the more well known locations like bubion - i could be wrong though.
