I have just moved up to Bakewell from Portsmouth. Currently don't know anyone so it would be great to meet a few people and see the best bits around here.

Does anyone either live local and fancy meeting up or inviting me along with them for a ride.

Or, pointing me in the right direction for local clubs and groups?

Cheers! Dave

Matlock CC have a MTB group that has a ride every Saturday starting at 9.30, usually from opposite Stan Fearns bike shop, returning at about 1pm after a ride and café stop.
Participants are of mixed technical ability but you need to be reasonably fit.

Matlock CC is a bit full on for me (mostly ex roadies).

We ride most Thursdays from the Church Inn @ Darley Dale 6.30pm - sometimes fast paced, but always fun. Sometimes we set off from elsewhere though, so always best to check. Anywhere between 3 & a dozen of us, with mixed fitness and ability. Always end up at the pub for beers.

I'm not out tonight, as working nights and the lads are doing Stanage loop with a Fox House start, but you are welcome to join us any other time ndmarshall130971 AT gmail DOT com

Alternatively, check out DVATC and have a look at their Tuesday night rides PDF. They are a decent bunch - usually quite fast paced, but good rides.

I and others ride nearly every Sunday in the area, starting at Curbar this week. Drop me an email (in profile) if you fancy coming along at any time

Moved up to Bakewell in August from Guildford and not getting out on the bike nearly enough. Just wondering if there are still any groups riding from Bakewell off the back of this thread?

regards
