Never miss the opportunity for a ride.
A pessimist is rarely disappointed and never outraged.
The first pipefitter I worked with told me to "never put you finger where you wouldn't put your dick" when he caught me trying to line a pair of flanges up by putting my finger through the bolt holes. I still live by that advice today!

Three words to live by: Mindfulness, acceptance and attitude
😀
A few that stick in my mind:
In life you get what you settle for (Thelma and Louise 😀 )
The biggest risk in life is to risk nothing at all (read in Dirt's Adam brytons interview earlier this year).
Don't eat yellow snow (Bear Grylls....)
Life is not a dress rehearsal
You get what you give.
always follow your finger, never sit on a straw and never trust a cornflake especaily if it has crunchy nuts.
A few words a wise sage told me.
Pain is temporary, glory is forever, bones heal and chicks dig scars
never ever, ever, bloody anything, ever.
One day i'm going to be dead. So anything that happens between now and then is a bonus...
If in doubt, go faster.

Just remembered what Cam McCaul said once and it defines riding to me:
"As kids we learn, after touching a hotplate, not to do it again because it hurts. What is it about riding a bicycle that, no matter how much pain and damage is inflicted, we get up and start all over again?"
I don't know if I'll ever find an answer.
"fortune favours the brave"
Usually uttered shortly before a feeling of pain.
'Put the fun between your legs.' is a favourite of mine for cycling.

'You're not here for a long time, you're here for a good time' - great ethos to live life by.
Also...'treat most situations in life as a dog might, if you cant play with it, eat it or shag it, walk away'....sort of goes hand in hand with the first one!

My philosophy is, basically this. And this is something that I live by. And I always have. And I always will. Don't, ever, for any reason, do anything, to anyone, for any reason, ever, no matter what, no matter where, or who, or who you are with, or where you are going, or where you've been. Ever. For any reason. Whatsoever.

That's an easy one. Touching a hot plate has no upsides/fun. Riding does. Bit of a silly quote really...
humour aside, the one I genuinely live by is:
"time is priceless: You can never afford to buy any more of it no matter how much you earn"
My cornflakes were fine without wee-wee on them anotherbike.
And I keep burning myself on the f'n hotplate so I guess the best quote is:
"Stupid is, as stupid does". 🙂
Always use apostrophes correctly. A fine standard to live by.
Can't believe we've not had this one yet:
"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it"
Flash-what about full stops and colons?
😀
Always use the colon correctly, cynic-al.
Full stop.
🙂
Should we add the humble hyphen to that list, Al? 😉

Less is more
You should regret things you have done and not things you haven't done.
Add life to your days
Rather than days to your life
Allways stuck with me that one !
And like lukes above
Its better to regret something you have done rather than something you haven't
Live better stories.

Man I hate that one.

Haha that's great, I am taking that one, since my fingers are pretty sliced up.
My sensei once said
"slow is smooth; smooth is fast".
Actually, he said that a lot.
I love this one.. it gives me a little hope when i feel like there is none!
