I'd imagine this sort of thing would be excellent in Enduro or DH bikes.....

I disagree. Far easier to hide batteries (And noise) on an enduro gnarpoon.

True. I on the other hand ride a gnarwhale. ( Cannondale Trigger) so I can hide a car battery in the frame. XC types would hate the weight addition of a hearing aid battery.
