I have recently been following instagram accounts along the lines of save.the.rat.bike and loving the moto-style bars you often see on these builds. I'd love to give some a whirl.
I know Surly make something along these lines ( https://surlybikes.com/parts/sunrise_handlebar) - any ideas on other places I could source such a thing?

I’ve got actual Moto bars on my cargo mtb where weight isn’t important, although £14.99 from eBay and stick a shim in the stem and tadha!
Maybe factor in a new stem, as 22.2-31.8 shims can be hard to find.
Loads of nice BMX stems around though.
Most Mtb moto style bars are 22.2mm (7/8") - Surly, Stooge, etc.
Though the Stooge aluminium Moto bar is normal 31.8.
You can of course fit proper Moto bars - Renthal and Protaper make nice ones. You even get a cool retro crossbrace pad with them 😎
I've not tried cheap steel Moto bars from eBay (seen them for £15 or so) but I'm not sure how well they'd stand up to full on MTB abuse. Would he fine for pootling around though I imagine.
I was going to suggest the Renthal cruiser bar as above. You'll need a new stem though. Thomson make a lovely bmx stem :-).
Main issue might be width, they tend to be limited to 729mm due to UCI regs for racing.
This is actually a great idea, I might resurrect an old bike and do this myself...

The Stooge Junker bars, the ones with the brace, are 22.2mm clamp. But handily come with a 22.2mm to 31.8mm shim.
Stooge moto are 31.8, are alloy and don't weigh a tonne like motorbike bars. Also have some compliance.
Motorbike bars are very stiff and heavy as designed to survive when you drop your motorbike on them. But you can get cheapies on ebay, get alloy ones and a bmx stem perhaps?

These would be for my pet rat bike, so although it might do a bit of gravelesque sub-gnar now and then it's mostly for tootling to the shops on. So no need to stand up to proper MTB abuse I don't think.
I'd be quite keen to find something 31.8 for compatibility with existing kit: not sure I need three stem clamp standards in the shed 🤣
AFAIK the only easily available 31.8 bar in this style is the Stooge Moto bar.
22.2 - 25.4 shims are easily available, 22.2 - 31.8 less so (though they come with the Stooge Junker and the Surly Sunrise).
We acquired a Cannondale Treadwell over Xmas, the bars on those are awesome! I think you can buy them separately.
Stridsland in Copenhagen are doing a run, similar to the Stooge bars and probably going to work out similar price.
If you don't mind shorter cruiser bars Fairdale make them for about £30 in black or chrome, just a case of finding stock (Source BMX did have them at one point but anyone who stocks Sunday will probably be able to get them). Sunday Freeze stems also seem to be the standard cheap option.
are moto bars high rise riser bars? if they are Answer make 50 and 75mm rise bars
edit: if you want some with a larger sweep, ergotech (i think that’s the name) also make high rise bars

If it's for your rat bike, and doing some pootling (do you ever take it off any sweet jumps?) then something like this:
MX Steel handlebar £12
and a stem like this:
BMX stem on CRC £8
Would get you going for £20 all in.
*edit, actually add a few £ for postage, but you know what I mean 😉

I just fancy making it into a rad cruiser style thing for a bit to see how that feels.
I was also musing taking it off some sweet jumps as and when the Dirt Factory in Manchester reopens -- it's quite a small frame and should be robust enough for the six or so inches of air I might be able to achieve, but that's for another thread.

Cruisers are cool. I picked up Transition Klunker cheap on eBay a couple of years ago. Love cruising round on it, perfect for the seafront or rides with the kids.
Hace taken it off-road a couple of times. It was fun, but scary in parts.
Stooge moto bars are ace. I'd put some on my old hardtail basher but they're a bit too posh for that!
I'm looking at some generic moto bars on eBay. Best thing is that I already have a fairly short 25.4mm clamp stem 🙂
