Who makes the most durable offset bushings for M6 hardware? I have a set from steamer industries in my old style trance, and while he was a lovely guy to deal with, they've not lasted too long - I'd guess around 400 miles.
how did you get on with OS bushings in the trance? any noticable differences? how much slacker di you get? any changes to pedalling efficiency/bob etc?
It's a 2006 trance, so the first model. I really like them - no real change to suspension feel for me but lower bb/slacker HA are both nice. With a 100mm fork, short stem and 720mm bars the bike is great fun - I used to just run a longer fork but this is a better solution.
I really need to change to 170mm cranks as my only problem is clipping pedals more than I used to.
Steel ones with a polymer eyelet bushing, by their nature and the fact the mounting hole is not concentric with the eylet bushing they do seem to wear the DU bushes quicker. The aluminium ones don't seem to be great.
We don't supply these as prefer to machine shocks to reduce their length to slacken angles, although some offsets are a good test before any non reversible (without parts being replaced) machining work is carried out.
Burgtec I would imagine.
My brass ones lasted a week in the alps but cant see them lasing much longer as one was a loose fit when new.
Burgtec +1 as they're Titanium rather than Aluminium
- I used to just run a longer fork but this is a better solution.
interesting. have longer forks currently and the front is HIGH. be nice to have it lower but i do quite like having 150mm to play with. (on a newer 5" trance now)
