What i don't understand is, according to a lot of people brake discs on a road bike are the work of the devil and will detach a limb at 5mph, i wouldn't like to fall on that cassette!

That would go well with my collection of BMW motorbikes.

Thinking how dangerous roadies claimed disC brakes were, I`d like to hear how they react to this,,,

Looks very ‘road-only’

I'd like to see it with:-

a) Dirt thrown in, ideally something gritty and clay like

b) What my leg would look like after it met

c) How cool it would look on MadMax or a chariot wheel

i wouldn’t like to fall on that cassette!

in my decades of riding a bike I'm not sure I've ever fallen on a cassette....

I like the look of it, knowing ceramic speed it will be VERY spendy

Genuinely great bit of lateral thinking there.

Looks very cool too.

Don't expect it will ever go mainstream but I'm glad there are people out there that think this stuff up. 👍

I can’t imagine falling on the current cassette design would end well. Leg/chain ring interaction certainly doesn’t.

It has had an amazing amount of press. It would be nice if they had waited for a working model.

Won't it jump horribly if there is even the slightest frame flex?

I think I'm with oldnpastit here. I also can't see how they could make the gear part stiff enough to not jump given how quickly a worn chain jumps even when it is wrapped most of the way round the chainrings

It is beautiful though

Edit: will we ever be free of this span stuff?
