Looking at going to Morzine for the opening weekend of the uplifts in the middle of June.

what are peoples experiences of the weather around this time? I've been told that some lifts may still be closed to snow still be around ? what are peoples experiences on this ?

There might be a couple of piles of slushy, snow tucked away but not on the trails.

weather is always a lottery in the Alps and Morzine especially it seems. I’ve had a week of 25c and so dry dust becomes an issue and I’ve had a week when it threw down the day we arrived and stopped the day we left.

Its rarely that cold unless you’re very high.

There's been pretty biblical levels of snow in the alps this winter, but Morzine and Les Gets are not that high that it would last until June even at the summits of the main peaks around there. You may encounter some snow if you head over towards Switzerland. The top of the Mossette lift from Lindarets up is by far the highest point in the area. Should be fine though. Been for the last 7 years in a row and only 1 year was a complete washout but still hilarious fun and improves your mud riding 1000%

Was there for the PPDS 5 years ago (I think). we did the event on Saturday in temps of 25'+, bone dry and dusty trails, clear blue skies and full on sunshine. At one of the food stops in the corner of the large square the temp was showing as 30'

On the Sunday however, it was 50m visibility, slurry for trails, cold and wet. We still went for a ride out over to Switzerland for lunch;-) and had a right giggle in the mud

Are (all) lifts open mid June? PPDS at end of June usually marks their opening I think?

Been a few times and the weather has ranged from very warm to freezing cold with snow.

Last time was freezing cold, that just got colder the higher up you went.

Just had a look, Pleney and both sides of Les Gets open on the 10th of June.

Super Morzine, Lidret, Chaux Fleurie on the 14th.

Chatel and Avoriaz doesn't open until the 23rd.

I don't remember the name of all the lifts - but I think that means if you go on the 14th you could ride the Pleney side, Both sides of Les Gets including the Bike Park. Up to the top of Super Morzine but not up to the Bike Park or further down to Chatel Bike Park, but you could in theory if you could get to Lindret get back up to Avoriaz that way?
