Heading out in June having not been for a couple of years, and I seem to remember seeing a few people having issues with plus tyres and the bikes not sitting into some of the front wheel cradles on lifts when I was last there.
I had no issues with 27.5 x 2.5" last time, but potentially running 29x2.6 or 27.5x2.8 this time around...
Please reassure me that it'll be absolutely fine and I should be more worried about the fact that I've not ridden down an actual mountain on a mountain bike for 3 years...!
Also please feel free to just spam this thread with photo's of mountain bikes in the Alps.

Yarp, you’ll be fine. Did 29x3” on all normal lifts one year, but now in addition they seem to have a special chair every few chairs to take e-bikes, fat bikes etc.
stress down, all is good!
I've never had any issues with fat tyres but the length of my Geometron was an issue. The back wheel would regularly hit the lift platform and sometimes bounce up and out of the rack or it would ride along and get jammed on stuff.
I used to sit on the chair behind it waiting to see what trouble I was about to cause with my silly bike.
I've not ridden down an actual mountain on a mountain bike for 3 years…!
Same. Gagging for it.
Excellent!
@sharkattack I had to share a Gondola with someone that had an XL Cotic Rocketmax last time, something like a 1.3m wheelbase with 29x2.5" tyres on it. It barely fitted diagonally across the whole compartment, my bike ended up balanced on top of it with both of us crouched on the seats!
To add my fox mudguard got the lifties annoyed last year as it snagged some of the racks, I’ll put on a shorter one I have this summer.
Oh yeah the gondola on the Pleney was a tight fit! I had my rear wheel jammed a few times until I figured out my technique. My last DH bike used to roll in with room to spare.
To be fair I've had similar problems in the UK with the array of shonky uplift trailers, most of which aren't tall enough.
