Ladies, gentlemen, those somewhere in between, and deadlydarcy:

I've revived my PDS Lift Opening-o-matic spreadsheet from 2016 for you lot.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1o4dwlPzpCV8gVBaFFV-K8ZxmrRQo00JBUo2NITpDYkU/edit?usp=sharing

It's subject to the usual caveats but I think it's roughly what the lift companies around the PDS are proposing this year.

TeleMorgins are in a bit of a mess at the moment, so it's unlikely that Aiguille (Champoussin) and Foilleuse (Morgins) are open (again?) this year, however, they dont effect the official PDS route but they do mean anyone staying in Morgins has to cycle round to Champery to get up to the Swiss descents.

The PDS route for this year is not released yet, but I doubt it will be anything different from last year as it doesn't use the Champoussin or Morgins lifts.

Weeksy, myself and others who make it will probably go for a ride out on 12th August

Cheers Mark. Although dates are not finalised yet I think I'll be there for a ride or two that day.

Bumping this with a quick BTW.

Over my winter visits to Morz I've been smearing my nose against the glass of the new Santa Cruz showroom (but not a shop) on Rue de Bourg (opposite Chez Roger, just up from Bar Robinson/Dixie/Rhodos)

http://www.morzinesourcemagazine.com/santa-cruz-morzine/

They've got some lovely looking (if over-priced IMO) kit in there. And for now there's no sign of a demo fleet, but if you're a SC nut, and find yourself in Morz this summer, there's some fondling to be done.

More useful stuff here, including lift opening and closing times and lift prices for the season

They are listing La Foilleuse as open from mid June.

Hopefully this means that Morgins is back

aha! well spotted.

I hope they do get it together as I like to ride the loop of the PDS that way round (Lindarets, Chatel, Morgins, Mosettes).

It's a bit of a shambles for a lift Co. though.

I can’t find any info on the Champoussin lift that takes you up to the sharp climb before descending back to Les Crosets. So I still don’t know if it’ll be possible to do PDS route the way your suggesting.

No, there's nothing on that one yet. I think its the Aiguile.

V slow, one bike at a time hung on the side of chair. When I last was on it I was probably the only one for hours. It's not worth their while opening it, but it makes for a nice loop. You can of course ride around to Crosets without taking the lift though.

Is there much climbing on the way back to Crosets if the lift isn’t open?

Depends on the route you take.  Over the Point de L'Au ridge and there's 600m climb, go round via Champoussin and its pretty "flat" along the road, but longer.

Thanks for that. Either route doesn’t look like it’ll be much fun If your on a dh bike

that loop isnt really a DH one. Mainly a nice XC bimble around through Chatel with the lac vert descent to finish into Lindarets which is my style.

Mate and I are out from June 15th to 21st. Only time we could make it with work and other commitments.

Seems we’ll be ok for the Les Gets lifts where we’re staying but looks unclear if super Morzine/Zore will be open or not to head out to Avoriaz direction? The magazine link suggests 21st so might just miss it going by that but the spreadsheet suggests 7th?

Is there a one stop website somewhere that has lots of lift aided loops starting from Morzine?

Last time we were there we did a Morzine-Lindarets-Lac du Montriond-Morzine loop with the kids which was ace.

2 years on and the kids are bigger and stronger and can ride British red routes and we're looking for more days out from Morzine using the lifts.

Any pointers where I might find idiot proof route guides please?

Ta

No worries. It’s our first trip so should be plenty to keep us busy even with the limited lifts open. Been trawling old threads and with that and a route book that was mentioned, hopefully got some good options.

blitz - the tour of the plateau de loex is a good 20km ish ride out from the top of the Chavannes lift. More XC than DH though, almost Welsh.

Route F  on the plan

Thanks Stoner.

It was that thread that’s been the main inspiration and prompted me to buy the book you linked to. There’s a route on page 104/105 ‘Grand tour des Gets’ which looks to take in some of the routes that I think were mentioned in that thread? That’s been plumbed into ViewRanger. I’ll have a look into that plateux loex route as that sounds ideal and not seen that one. We’re on 140mm trail bikes so not looking for full on DH. Thanks again
