No idea, are they driving over or flying though? Cause if flying that's the first conundrum to consider.

Hope you've pointed out the obvious to them already!

I wouldn't want to be one of the lift operators hauling them on or off several times a day.  Some of them are moody enough already! 😂

Given how much the euro's love an ebike (and how many of them I saw out there last year) I don't think you will have any issues...

Check the airlines policy and law on batteries.

I'm almost entirely sure the limit is 100Wh (i.e. about 1/5th of an e-bike battery) and upto 160Wh at the airlines discretion.

[edit; your driving so thats fine]

There’s a philosophical question, if you put your ebike on the chairlift, are you still cheating?

I know you can still do longer rides and link valleys together, but when 80% of the climbings already been done surely the appel of a 50lb bike is diminished somewhat?

Here's the riding gods...

Perhaps it's their only bike, and they don't give a flying hoot whether people percieve them to be 'cheating' or not?

Fun fun fun, I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Can't wait for geex's views on this. If he has views on an e-bike subject of course.

As an ebike owner (as opposed to riding god) I was having a sly dig at people who say ebikes are cheating, whilst still using chairlifts or shuttles...

You realise he rides an ebike?

Doubt there is much weight difference between them and some of the old school DH bikes that would have been up and down them loads. My old Session 10 would have given the current e-bikes a run for their money weight wise and I bet loads of them did seasons out there.

If they get moaned at they could take the batteries on the lift with them off the bike.

Session 10s and Diesels - Trek had a real knack for incredibly heavy bikes for a while!

Yes, but it wouldn't matter what he rode. He'd have an opinion. Usually a polarising one. 🙂

I can't leave this thread without asking the question others have avoided.

I thought ebikes meant you didn't need uplift any more?

As brilliant as they are, they aren’t going to get you to the top of a mountain at the same time as your non assisted mates in the chairlift.

There were plenty on the lifts last year. Some lifts had signs saying remove the battery but I never saw anybody actually take their's off.

All the rental outlets have them. Saw loads last August on the lifts. There did seem to be some kind of Ebike trail thing going on too, not really sure what.

See here
