Hi all

After some advice for best family biking in Morzine, we are going for a few days in the summer. 2 children (12 &16) on hardtail MTB, me on a cyclocross bike & wife on a hybrid. Are any of the trails there suitable for such a mixed bag? Or will we be stuck to riding on road/along the river? Any advice would be greatly received.
Many thanks

I would suggest hiring bikes for, at least, the adults. Otherwise you'll really be massively restricting yourself from being able to get out and about using the lift system

I'd say it'll be a stretch even on the greens on a hybrid. There are some other suitable trails, the path along the river at the bottom of the valley for example. Quite a few fire roads too. You'll probably want disk brakes at least. It's much more fun on a mountain bike though.

Thanks for the advice - will look at a couple of hire bikes.

TBH, unless the kids both have disc brakes then 4 bikes would be a really good idea

There's a few nice flowy blues around Les Gets that probably ok for a family.

There is an actual "Family trail" between the Pleney and Les Gets but it's a bit of a death trap for the average family! It was probably ok before it was eroded.

I've hired bikes there three times when passing through. My advice would be to go to more of a proper bike shop setup and avoid the more general ski/bike places... Their bikes were setup far worse in our experience.

The decent places will have the brakes swapped around for you and suspension sag set correctly without even asking.
