Researching bike hire options in Morzine, does anyone have any particular recommendations / good value options?
Stay well clear of the hire shop under the Pleney. Lying rip-off merchants. Tried to sell my mate a whole Hope Headset when what he needed was a 10mm spacer to allow the existing headset to work properly.
Used the brand new bikes outside to tempt you to rent, then gave you a battered old machine with bald rubbish tyres and no air in the shock.
The ones on the high street all seemed much better.

Is that the Santa Cruz dealer (FB Freeride)?

I've never hired a bike out there but know one of their mechanics, George, he's a decent bloke and has helped me fix broken things many times!
Can’t go wrong with Torico on the Rue de bourg across from Bar Robinson. They’ve had nukeproofs for a few years. I rented one last summer and it was in good order and well priced.
Just remember brake levers may be other way around to uk bikes. Some brakes can be swapped over easily, Shimano not.
Torico for me too, English guys, more than happy to help etc. Used them for both hire stuff and a snapped spoke too for repair. All good. I had a Pivot Mach6 off them.
Have also used Torico and been happy.
Thanks all, very helpful. Looks like around 90E a day from most places, I'm there for 3 days and possibly the days I want to travel too, looks significantly more cost effective for me to hire a bike bag and take my own.
Also interested in this, are bikes used to switching brakes for British / Irish riders as a matter of course?
