Off to Morzine tomorrow with the family. Yay! Have also recently got some bikepacking kit and had a local trip with my daughter which we both really enjoyed. Therefore the thought has occurred about taking the stuff and trying a night out from Morzine during our time there.

Anyone got any ideas for spots that are doable for this? Daughters are 8 and 6 and would prob just take the eldest initially but if it works may consider another night with the youngest. Thinking lift assisted then a few miles of not too steep riding to a camping spot?

Any other considerations? Is this legal etc, places to avoid?

Should be possible. I doubt it is allowed but they do tolerate camping in the lift car parks so one night out the way, up the mountain won't get you into any bother. We've done a few late picnics then a night ride down and its lovely up there. Empty and peaceful. Just watch out for cows. There's quite a gap between the lifts closing and nightfall though. I'd go for somewhere between mossettes and linderettes. Either near the top for an epic sky or tucked into the valley. Check the weather carefully and be prepared for it to change
