Hi all!  We might go to Morzine from 18th July to around the 27th (or we my go to Norway, not sure)

Anyhow, does anyone have any tips for well priced accommodation for 2 people, ideally self catering.

Also, what is the best source for planning trips in the bike parks and the trails around?  And transfers from geneva 🙂

Thanks!

Air bnb for accommodation

The portes du soleil app is good and has all the mtb maps on it so a good place to start.

Can’t help on transfers as we drive

AIrbnb for sure. We paid £500 for a week. But generally i'd think £800-900 is more common.

Can I do the STW thing and recommend something you didn't ask for? I did the cheap self catering thing loads of times when we were young and broke. For the past few years (pre-covid anyway) we've stay with Riders Refuge.

Not sure what the current prices are but it's great to have a big breakfast and evening meal provided and not spend any time in the supermarket or the kitchen. Plus there's usually an eclectic mix of characters around the dinner table every night which can be good fun.

They also do transfers to Geneva. As for planning your rides in the bikepark you don't need to over think it. Just grab a map when you get there and you'll soon discover how everything links up, it's very straightforward.

I've stayed at Hotel L'Aubergade, and had good experiences there - friendly staff etc. As it was a while ago, it might be worth you checking recent reviews.

I think Riders Refuge now use what was once the Rude Chalets accommodation in town. It's a really nice house, private ensuite bedrooms and a good lounge. We went as a group of nine (with Rude) and had a level to ourselves. I think the roof space accommodation is smaller, for smaller groups.

Transfers were with

who were good, prompt and friendly.

Edit, forgot, we have also stayed here and these are really nice and just far enough out of town, but not too far out. They have a selection of apartments in the one big building.

Tourist office website will let you book direct with an apartment/chalet owner, always used to be the cheapest way but airbnb etc might have changed it.

Tourist Office in Les Gets has never let us down.
