Choices for bib shorts with pockets are almost none existent for women. Have seen the morvelo bib shorts with pockets but doesn anyone own a pair either mens or womens and manage to carry a phone without it going flying out? Ideally would have a zip on the pockets like some roadie jerseys have but no such luck.
After some for winter MTB riding where the extra coverage and warmth would be appreciated and get the phone out of my shorts away from the mud and filth. The most I'll carry is phone and a snack so not worried about being impaled by a pump.
Ordered the specialized SWAT version but returned to exchange for next size up and instead they refunded me with no acknowledgment so I'm sulking with them.
Yeah have carried phone/bottles/food etc. in those pockets no problem at all, they're quite deep and pull taught enough when you're riding that it would take some freak circumstances to jolt anything out.
Sweaty though! I have my phone in a waterproof case but it comes out with visible droplets of condensation on it.
Ive got a pair (mens)- the rear pockets are ok for carrying a phone, but it does get very sweaty. TBH for me, the fit and chamois design of the overland ones is nowhere near the Rapha core cargo pair which I also have.
I've used the men's version of these and they are the best shorts I've used bar none - https://7mesh.com/wk3-cargo-bib-short
Super, super, super comfy, durable as hell and loads of space for phone, gels etc. Spendy, but so worth it!
Thanks all, I ride in normal morvelo bib shorts on my road bike and find them super comfy so happy to go with their offering. Especially considering the very spendy versions from rapha and 7mesh, it's not like it's something I'll wear every ride all year round really.
Don’t Rapha do female cargo bib shorts? I’ve got blokes brevet ones and they’re spendy but good.
