Ok so i managed to pick up a used tals carrtidge, but now i have more questions.

The cartridge i bought came from a 09 160mm model fork but mine is 06/07 150mm model will i have to make any other changes ie does the damper side now have to be changed to a 160mm?? or can i get away with running it as is.

I still dont know if i need to release the air from the" top" chamber of my talas unit to be able remove the whole thing in one piece or can i just undo the top nut and pull the whole bloody lot out because i dont have the tool/valve that fox says i need to pump it back up, ive heard that i only need to let the air out from the shrader valve to get at the lower talas. Can anyone confirm this.

Cheers Rob

Phone Loco he's a great bloke.

I've definately read that you can pump them up with a football valve,

Well there you go you never know until you try. The 09talas III cartridge that i bought went straight in, no probs it doesn't need ifp tool. I used a pointy thing to deflate my old talas system and just swapped them out no hassle, although www,foxracingshox.com did come in handy and i did to call loco tuning and mojo for advice. As for the travel i now have 160mm instead of the 150mm it turns out that the rebound side isn't affected by the length of travel on the talas side. Bonus.

Glad to hear it 🙂

I have an old set of 130 talas. So I can service them easily enough?

I was always under the impression that they would explode if I tried to service them myself..
