You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Coming down Mastiles Lane was not a good time to discover I was only getting about 50mm of travel out of my Reba Teams. At the time I was running 130psi in both +ve and -ve chambers. Have let all air out to check if the fork compresses fully - it does - and pumped back to 120mm in both chambers....................still only about 50ish movement, even when putting all weight on bars.
What do I do next?
Use less pressure?
130psi is the manual's recommendation for my wieght.......................... 🙄
In that case, 100psi max 😛
Under warranty?
Service time?
FORGET THE RECOMMENDED AIR PRESSURES!!
RS pressures are notoriously high. Set 25% sag and start from there.
LOL - the recommended air pressures are rubbish and IMO just there so that people who don't have a clue either think that it's great because it doesn't bob much or because it stops people running too little pressure and bottoming them hard.
I'm 16.5 stone and run 110 to 130 psi depending on what I'm riding - 130 only for stuff with lots of drops, usually 110.
CLUBBER - You are about the same as me weight wise so Im going to try your settings. 110 +ve and -ve?
And what way have you the rebound set? Tortoise or Hare?
Thanks
P
110 in both
min compression and little rebound (unless I'm riding droppy stuff in which case I'll add in some compression damping along with the additional air pressure)
Just play with it to see what works for you - at 130psi, I reckon I'd be getting more than 50mm movement so you may need to run less pressure than I'd suggested to get the best out of your forks. You won't damage anything so long as you keep reasonable pressure in there (say 75psi+)
people who don't have a clue................ 😳 Cheers. I'll start at 70psi, then, and work up from there.
Ahem... 😳 I meant people who don't yet know how to set up their suspension 😉
I'd start at 90 really - I suspect that will give you full travel.
