There used to be one outside the RUH hospital in Bath (in memory of Mark Gerrish).

I guess it is a sobering, thought provoking thing.

There's one on my commute in Fallowfield where some lad called Joshua got knocked off his bike and killed by a cement mixer. Didn't know him, but it saddens me every time I ride past it. I just hope a few drivers notice it as well and take more care when turning.

Chester when it was a cycling city put numerous bikes around the city and put plant pots of plants on them, somebody must have told them about ghost bikes because theyre now all gone along with any thoughts of safe cycling infrastructure.

If it makes one person think about how they behave on the road, it's a good idea.

However, I would hope that the deceased's family are consulted - I can imagine it would be quite harrowing having to go past your partners/childs/parents ghost bike every day on your own commute!

I'd be happy to have one if my family were OK about it. I suspect it would be located on the A52 between the Bramcote and Priory Islands, though this may change when the tram extensions are finished.

I pass that one - it is an arresting sight. Another one installed just outside my work last week - a guy was killed on Upper Brook St.

Yes, I rode into work for the first time in ages today and passed the one on Upper Brook Street

Every time I pass the Jason Macintyre one on the way into Fort Bill I tip my cap. I feel that as a fellow cyclist I owe him that.

That said, I'm not sure they're always appropriate.
