Is moors valley (Ringwood) easy enough to get round at night? navigation and riding, or is it better left for daylight? Does it get muddy and slow or just wet? i know its not that technical but looking for something to blat round on the CX.
It's great at night !
sometimes a lot of standing/running water but the track is very rideable (though haven't been there for a year or so)
The woodwork is bloody lethal when wet though (for a talentless chicken like me anyway) so take it steady until/unless you know where the bridges are
(don't forget to try a backwards lap as well, as long as there aren't too many other riders about)
Best taken at night as you don't get any holdups, and ridden flat out its great fun. There's plenty more in the woods too, usually manage a good 3 hrs plus of single track.
thanks, just what i wanted to hear and thanks for the heads up on the woodwork.
40mpg any chance of emailing a route to link in with a few more trails?
No, I don't the strava type stuff, just ride bikes and get lost occasionally 😀
Its a bit of a maze in the woods round there, just head north and look for interesting gaps in the bushes. Its mostly cheeky stuff so best done out of hours.
I was there today. Few puddles nothing serious. Didn't have any issues with the woodwork. There are lots of little stones on the edges of the track which I imagine if you ran wide on a cx might encourage a OTB. It's quite short, a flying lap is around 20 mins. Good fun, but busy, reckon it would be great at night
