Got a 6-day course coming up in Montrose. Gonna be on my own cos everyone else at work has already done it, so I thought I may as well take a bike up with me. It'll just be for evenings and possibly cycling from hotel to training venue, so do I go for the mtb or the road bike?

Aye, that sounds like a plan. Road bike it is then.
What time do you set off? I reckon I could be in Arbroath by about half 5.

Current monsoon conditions make bike cleaning a requirement after any offroad shenanigans and therefore the road bike is the only sensible option.

Note... why be sensible?

Good stuff. Looks like a 60 miler if we count Montrose-Arbroath and back.
First day of course is 14th May, so I'll check closer to the time that a ride is still on. Cheers.
