As my present waterproof has just died I am looking at these for sale by Merlin cycles
Has anyone got one?
How do they size up, at 5'8 10.5st I am torn between small and medium?
Montane is generally built on the small side. I'm the same height as you and some of my Montane kit is a large. Admittedly this is for climbing to put it over other layers.
I find it better to try on Montane kit first. Some of their items get interesting in the sizing dept IMHO.
I've got a small and I'm 5ft 7 and 11st 4. They aren't bike specific jackets so quite short at the back. I reckon you are on the cusp. A small will fit but I don't think you'll have much bum coverage.
It's a nice jacket. I use it for just day to day but also mtb. I find it too short for road use though. It's pretty waterproof too and very wind proof and breathable.
If you are near Oxford or reading you can try mine!
I am 6' and 13.5st and have that jacket in a perfect snug Large as a summer/autumn/spring jacket that got lobbed in the bag/pack and taken out all the time.
It is a great jacket - well cut, long arms and body, great hood.
It is *not* the most breathable, but works fine (you can vent via the pockets and unzip both ways). It is very waterproof.
Mine lasted well, of a good few years heavy use.
Cheers all.
