I've just building a Monster Cross Bike using a Voodoo DJab frame as a base.
Apologies for the rubbish phone pic
I have some Kinesis DC19 disc forks but they won't fit any tyres bigger than 38mm before mud clearance becomes an issue.
I like the way it rides with the 700c forks so would rather not get forks much longer than that (405mm).
So what are other folk using and if you've got one a pic would be great
Thanks
Ken
some 26" rigids?
surly make them in different ac lengths.
+rose has a cheaper one that looks identical.
Looks alreet actually. NICELY done.
I'm using some forks made by Waltworks, but as emanuel syas, any 26er rigid fork will be about the right length and plenty wide enough.
Isn't that just a drop bar MTB? Although the bar-end shifter makes it a little more cross-like.
26" rigids are between 420 - 440 normally
not 405
your going to struggle to get much more height into a 405mm fork - wider tires are taller too.
Yikes, those forks are short!
I run 530mm A2C Magura Thors on my D-Jab, and its still not slack enough!
I've got the 80mm 1x1
http://surlybikes.com/parts/1x1_fork
bit shorter.
these look the same

but I think I said something similar above.
you could always file the dropouts 3-4mm.that would gain something.
as would choosing a low stack bottom cup for the hs.3-5mm can be easily shaved there.(dunno if the hs is external on that bike tho)
413(1x1)-3-3=407.that's near enough.
a bigger tyre on the rear would also compensate for a slightly higher fork.
And dropping the stem a tad would be different, but I'm sure it would feel similar.
Thanks guys
I think I may go with 420mm Pace RC31's but I need to do some measuring first I think as it could get expensive to keep buying the wrong forks.
I guess I'll just have to slum it with these until then
