Anyone know if there's any important difference between the old mono style caliper that has the mounting holes same way as the current trials ( IS ?) and the version that has the mounting holes same as post mount. I knows there's adapters etc to re orientate although there's less options. Is it just that one version is IS friendly and the other POSTMOUNT style friendly?
Ta
I've had both the IS (black with gold bore cap) and Post-mount (silver with black bore cap) versions of the Mono Mini caliper. They're the same caliper just with different metal cut away from them to make different mounting surfaces. They take the same pistons/seals/pads etc although my post-mount ones came with plastic pistons instead of metal ones.
Trials versions have bigger pistons but run with the same levers.
Nice one 😉
Postmount ones are easier to set up with adapters on IS mounts then the IS mount version with shims.
