You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I'm bored.
Probably a SC 5010c in £OMG spec, xx1, enve etc.
Well that's what the next bike will be 😀
Probably about 5-10 bikes until I found a couple that had gave the 'tinkle-pee-pee' or 'fizz' sensation you hear about but can't quite explain.
I would like to think it'd be something like a raw Nicolai with slightly custom geometry. But in reality would be an Orange five that has the latest and greatest spec refreshed every 6 months 😀
I bought it last week or two ago, the Commencal Meta AM29.
Although in the dream world, i'd have fitted a dropper.
I'd quite like a nice simple titanium hardtail.
Yeti SB66c
Reverb/masterpiece dropper.
Xx1
Fox kashima both ends
Pro2 evo hubs on enve rims
Hope/enve finishing kit.
Priced this up. Around 7k
I've had loads of blingy bikes over the last 25 yrs, but now thinking this looks ace

rocky mountain element (the green+black BC edition frame), 2x10 XTR drivetrain, Next Sl cranks , XTR brakes, SID XX forks with monarch XX shock, enve rims on dt240 hubs (tubs for racing
), reverb dropper post and all the green anodised bling I can throw at it! - and you can't forget the green bar ends 😛
Cotic Soul. The End.
...with shiny bits!
steel
offroadable
tourable
comfy bars
comfy seat
low gears

Probably this, but I'm loving my TRc, without the bling, which is essentially the same bike without the trails coming to life 😀
Engin custom Ti with all sorts of blingy bits. And a Jones spaceframe.
MTB:
Cotic Soda.
120mm forks, Rock Shox for preference.
XT.
Hope Hoops.
Bel - Air Ti.
Richey foam grips.
Wellgo MG1's.
Easton carbon bar and post.
XR4 on the front, XR3 on the back.
In Fender Salmon Pink, Sea Foam Green or Daphne Blue.
I am a man of simple, yet impeccable tastes. 😀
black sheep fat bike, a wolfhound and then just extra bling for dream build niche fleet i already already have 😀
Don't really have a 'dream' MTB, if I was spending big money I'd sooner do it on a road bike, in which case I'd probably get a Trek Madone 7-Series with 9070 Di2, some nice carbon wheels and some pimpy finishing kit.
This isn't MTB specific, any build.
A road bike again here:
Colnago Di2
Don't think I have an ultimate mtb.
Any old thing then use the money left over to stop working and get out more.
Road: Baum with Super Record EPS and Bora wheels
Cross: Speedvagan with Di2 and a whole bunch of DA tubs with Dugast's
MTB: Gasventinove Stembek frame, WR forks, FRM wheels/finishing, XX1
Fun: That Shand on the homepage
Raw Nicolai Ion 16 650b frame with black decals
Derby carbon rims on silver Chris King hubs with black spokes
Black Bos Deville 160mm 650b fork and Bos Kirk rear shock
150mm Reverb Stealth, SDG Circuit Ti Mountain saddle
Enve DH bars, Syntace Megaforce II stem
Hope Headset/BB
Black X01 groupset
Hans Dampf rear, Magic Mary front, both tubeless
Hope Tech 3 Evo E4 brakes in stealth black
Black Hope grips
Not that I've given it much thought.
It's got to be N+1.. How could you just have one?
For me..
1. Salsa Beargrease Carbon with XX1 and carbon rims
2. Santa Cruz Bronsons top spec
3. That Shand bike from the front page
4. Evil Carbon DH bike
5. That super light Niner that some one on the forum has
6. Spec S-works epic 29er
7. Kingdom Brigante with xx1
Derby carbon rims on silver Chris King hubs with black spokes
Black X01 groupset
Nope, sorry. King don't do the XD freehub 😥

That's ok, I've had them machine one up specially. Money no object.

If you get the chance to build it go for it , it is an absolute pleasure to ride very fast and stable.
Your pricing up is pretty accurate (that part still hurts a bit).
Money no object?
I'd buy a boat. Ovington Phantom, CST mast, harken hardware, North 3DL sails (better buy a few, money's no object so I'll be moving somewhere sunny and they don't like UV). And spend the [s]rest[/s]infinate change on [s]pies and beer[/s]a high quality diet to maintain a competative weight in the class.
Cross: Ritchey Swisscross
Road: Something steel and Italian
XC: Think I've already got it. Ritchey P-650b.
Fun 1: Cotic Rocket
Fun 2: Custom steel long travel hardtail.
Of course everything would have the latest and greatest (Campag, XX1 etc.) Yes, I have a bit of a thing for steel as well.
Considering I'm currently torn between buying a HDR 27.5, a Bronson and a Mach 6. I'd say money no object... I'd buy them all.
I would buy an off the peg Giant in the sales and spend the rest on hiring a team of sightly female mechanics* to wash and maintain it after every ride.
Surely more practical and pleasurable than any amount of 1x10, wheelsize tennis, bling and small-US-niche-name-dropping can give you?
*must be versed in bleeding avid brakes.
More or less what Kudos said- sworks enduro 29er, with Pikes, enves, formula brakes, xx1 drivetrain... And that's all really. Bit plebby but doesn't forget the job it's for. Or alternatively, nip down to Orange with a bag of money and buy that Strange 29er Alpine they've been taking to shows.
For proper no-object I guess I'll be going off to some carbon master builders and getting them to custom build me something based on my Hemlock, only slacker and a dab longer, then throwing glitz at it.
Actually, money no object Id start a bike company, build 4 bar bikes with a patented FFS (Functionaly the F****** Same) suspension design and let Spesh have their day in court.

Better not tell you where I live, thats pretty much my current bike bar the Enve rims (its on Stans and a whole lot cheaper!). Its a lovely bit of kit, sell your kidney or do 0% finance with Ubyk and you'll be over the moon 😀
Definitely something from Firefly, like this.....

Road for me, am awaiting delivery of this frame
http.//colnago.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/C59-DISC-INCI.jpg
Full Dura Ace DI2 9070, with C35 wheels shod with GP4000s 25mm tyres.
Still to choose bars/stem/post etc but the only carry over parts from my old bike are seat and pedals.
Very happy about it 🙂
Edit, frame is not disc version, prefer the look of traditional brakes.
I'd get the Surly hubs on my Niner anodised red. 🙂
And I'd buy one of them Engin's, mounted on a revolving plinth, to replace the TV in my lounge.
Intense Carbine 29er with a bit of extra bling!

Really really want! solely based on looks but bound to be mega to ride.
air9carbon with rigid fork, 1x11 and bling wheels
all weather ti road bike with discs
Ask me again when the Yeti SB75C frame comes out.
if money is no problem, I'd have an unlimited airline ticket.
Gooner, have a look at the deda superleggero/a stem bar combo these go well ,seat post is also available. However colnagos post is a good looker too.
I genuinly don't know as the bike I am building is pretty much all I want (sub £2k build) anything more would be wasted on me.
But would probably add a mid travel full sus like a rocket or a DMR Bolt
Plus a full on DH bike to the stable/quiver/armory/other nonsensical words for bikes

Ask me again when the Yeti SB75C frame comes out.
Will certainly be interesting when the C comes out, see if it makes it "come alive". Certainly the reviews of the SB75 so far say its not the best middle ground between a SB66 and SB95, comments suggest you should go one way or the other, and not try and sit in the middle.
I was torn with the SB66c, with the SB75 being imminent when I got it, but so happy I went with the SB66c, it fits perfectly with what I want it to do. The bike industry can **** off trying to take 26s away from us 🙁 (or rather those muppets who keep asking for 650B without having tried one so bike companies rush out to make them). Sure Yeti will have a SB76c ready and dailled for when my SB66c is ready for retirement though hah...
Engin for me
A nice 953 ht 26"
Rs8 uno
Royce bb
King headset
Tune hubs
Stans Podium mmx rims
And some sort or xtr electric rear gear ( hidden battery )
Bit unsure as to have a Sid or rigid fork
And maybe a specialized sworks enduro in blue as a big bike
Oh well best start saving
I already have my dream road bike - Custom 853 frame and reasonably modest SRAM Rival, home built wheels on Royce hubs, Brooks Swallow etc. Just a lovely bike.
MTB-wise Cotic Rocket with XTR and some form of Fox bounciness.
Cheers
Danny B
I'd probably be quite boring and just get a top spec Giant TCR road bike to replace my not quite top spec TCR. And a top spec TCX to go with it.
Off road I'd probably just get a Solaris with some nice carbon wheels and 1x10 XT on it. All a bit boring and very attainable really.
Either that or I'd get sata cruz to build me a one off custom 650b Chameleon in carbon 🙂
Orange boy- sadly Engin is no longer doing steel so you really would have to throw some cash at him to get one 🙂 best start saving for one of his ti frames
The bike wouldn't be that expensive, but paying for Greg Fuquay to come out of bike building retirement and shipping him and his family over to the UK so he could build the titanium hardtail we discussed twenty years ago would probably up the budget. 🙂
Vertigo ti ht xtr/enve
Parlee Z1 lightweight/dura ace
Whyte T129carbon
Beargrease Fatbike
Money no object I would test as many enduro/all mountain bikes as I could then based on that I would commission a bike designer and McLaren to build me a carbon frame.
I would then buy my way into the RS black box program for suspension.
Try all the tyres I can then commission a tyre manufacturer to make my own tyres for different conditions.
Not sure what I would do about wheels.
Transmission would be a Shimano XTR 11-42 with raceface next sl cranks and some custom CNC parts.
I would get that carbon KES dropper post to.
The base price for that ti frame high but that's before the options
Might be a long time saving up
Chrisl does that ride as good as it looks and sounds?
I will have too check out ubyk..
