Afternoon all. Quick one for you, I've got a company car, Mondeo saloon and, although I usually put two bikes in the boot, it does mean only 2 of us can then get in the car, I'm looking for options for occasions where it'll be 4 of us in the car but want to transport 2 bikes. It's very rare, so I'm not looking at forking out loads. Not that it makes much difference, but it'll be pretty short journeys too. 30 miles max really.
Thanks in advance!

How in the name of god did you end up with a saloon, hens teeth!

Anyway, I'd just look at something to strap to the outside, I can barely get my (original) Trailstar in the boot never mind something long and modern. Wheels wouldn't be easy either.

My missus had a mk3 saloon. We got it dirt cheap from an old boy giving up driving. The boot was pitiful.

I would say a Sea Sucker type setup, but the problem there is that you need to know what fork adapters you need. So probably a Saris Bones instead.

Might as well keep the keep forever now, so rare it must start appreciating before too long!

I've been using the Rock Bros suction mount for a couple of weeks now and it's been really decent!

Really easy to peel off and stick in the boot when not in use too. It comes with QR adapter, plus a choice of another adapter (boost/non-boost/15 or 20mm axles etc).

I have a saloon car, can only just about get the Trail bike in, wheels off, dropper down due to the bulkhead that saloons have (assuming you haven't got a 'hatch/5 door).

Had the car 17 years though, and I have a 4 bike rack for the roof. Even the Mrs' Qashqai will only take two trail bikes (front wheel off/bikes in side) and us in the front.

Depends which model but I’ve got a 2017 reg hatch and the options were very limited. A standard saris type rack won’t work, so it’s either roof bars and rack, or one of those sea sucker things.

If it wasn't a company car I'd be flinging a removable swan neck on and one of those easy clip on Thule racks.

Some saloons let you drop the seats (sounds like this one does too) which is handy but doesn't help here.

I have a ford mondeo roof rack, bought from ford direct. You could stick that on with Thule bars. Job done. That’s the set up I had. Mondeo was the previous model. 12 plate.
