I'm in bikes back together after a big help out by baz and his comically small lathe

It's still not all fixed. But the bouncy bits are.

I had to cut the pivot bearings out they were well seized.

I couldn't find the washers required. So made them

I'm afraid I'm out. Typical, as it looks like a belting evening for it. I seem to have nackered my ankle yesterday. I was reccieing a potential new route down from the turbines that I'd spotted. It was going well too. Found a very Intersteller-ish sheep trail, which was looking good (with a few very 'high cosequence' bits chucked in), until I found myself stranded at the bottom, sinking in a bog. This is not unusual for me. Went over on my ankle trying to wade out of it, and its swollen up to buggery today 🙁

I'm going to go back over there though, because the top section is an absolute belter. I just need to find a proper way through to Owd Betts once you're down to that level.

Yep,
I've got a rough idea of a route that can always be tweaked a bit if conditions (or the approach of closing time) dictate.

Good ride. Top effort from baz he almost made it all the way down San Marino with his forks locked out before he binned it....

Only three made it to the pub though!
Bull was closed so we opted for a swift one in the Black Dog.

Thanks for sorting the ride last night Ian - much appreciated.

Apologies that we bailed out at the top of Winter Hill as well. It didnt make sense for us to ride down San Marino and then have to cross back home. Shame we missed the beer though!

It was probably a blessing in disguise though as my lights died as we said terrah. Had to abandon the shooting hut descent and go back down the mast road and over to Coal Pit by moon light which was good in a very different sort of way!

San Marino without lights would have been a disaster!

I think they'd say it's "Character-building" 😈

I flew over Rivvi last night on my way to Poland, spotted Anglezarke first and then the mast. Looked a cracking night for it. Had a ride over at sunrise on Sunday and was surprised by the amount of water up there.

I know it can get wet but there seemed to be small rivers everywhere.
