Afternoon all. Lets just put this out there shall we? You never know...

Hare and Hounds Holcombe. 8.15 kick off. Usual rules apply. Everywhere's already flooded and the forecast is pretty much solid rain between now and then. Hey ho!

We could go canoeing instead?

Surely after the past 4 weeks of solid rain the hills will have been eroded down to the bedrock by now?

I'll probably be there, assuming I can shake off this bloody bug I've picked up.

Possibly, depending on physio advice in the morning.

Winter boots and bin-bags edition.
Time to get all the mudguardy bits out of the shed... and to ride someone else's bike 😉

Any more takers?

No more rain forecast between now and then, which is a good job because I don't want to short out the fairy lights 😀

I'll be there. Probably left it too late for the festive lights though. If it does rain who will be the first to look like the Sith Lord in his final moments?

Yeah I'm in. Got some bike-fixing to do before though so no time for farting around with daft lights.

Well the rain has actually stopped. And we're still mainly above water. Mainly. Its gonna be a wet one though. I'll keep us to the hardpack. Anything else is going to be a quagmire

Can you lot herd yourself up the cobbles? I'll be doing my usual refusal to ride down the hill just to turn round and ride back up it again. 😀

Oh... and the Rake is closed due to there now being an enormous sink hole in it. Laterz!

Depending on what time I can get out I will either meet you or go through Reddisher to the Hare.

We are indeed. Well I'm not. I'll meet you at 8.30 up at the top of the cobbles. Its a blast round the Res's on hardback, and some tarmac, as we're going to be limited on routes. The moors are an absolute non-starter, and will be for a while I think

Anything on that route that a cx bike won't cope with?

The rock steps at the far end of the horseshoe maybe Daz. Other than that its prime CX bike route. Think Lee will be on his

I might use my CX but pad up. The last time I tried steps on it I failed.

Probably not going to make it. Have a new frame to build up instead. May also drink beer in solidarity 🙂

Not going to make it tonight. Rode yesterday in the same area and it was good. The conditions were much better then I expected. The streams are flowing nicely especially near the horseshoe, and the stone steps were beyond my skill level. The cobbles are messy but we made it up alive. Too knackered tonight to do it again. The old legs need more rest.
See you next week for BMX night. Enjoy.

Good run chaps. Even the weather behaved itself.

We should do that route on a dusty summer evening.

Good fun tonight! Conditions were nowhere near as bad as I expected. I was like Bambi on ice over those stone slabs near jumbles
