Bring money for beer
Meet in the car park here http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=399188&Y=427230&A=Y&Z=115
Unfortunately, it's just too far for me on a school night. I'm up at half 5.
hmm. i'm off work on monday cos i get the keys to my hoose, so may be able to make it up there for this ride...
I have a meeting in Cirencester at 10am on the Tuesday :-/
Even I might try and make this one since its (very) local.
oh, i do need to get a bar end plug or two still, after losing one of mine on the fence by the river heading back to phillips park last monday night... anyone got any ODI lock-jaw snap caps spare, by any chance?
Should be ok for Monday but may have to give the pint a miss to get back at a semi sensible time!
I'll be there as long as my dodgy back is ok by then. I bloody hate being old. Puts me in a dilemma though. Can I be arsed riding there and back from Tod?
I keep claiming I might come but it never happens. We'll see. 🙂
This is local to me so I might break my MNPR duck.
Are green stoker helmets compulsory though?
I'll also declare it now, I have a lefty fork and ive heard all the jokes before.
Work says no
Which is bloody annoying 😐
how long do you tend to be out riding for? are MNPR virgins welcome?
They were very good with me on my first ride along with them, always had someone keeping me company at the back.
too far for me on a skool nite.....
I too am up at half 5 quarter to 6.
I'm out
I'll be there.
I should be out if I can get my new "Gnar Missile" built up.
If I scratch it I will cry.
Max 2 hours. We need to leave time for the pub.
No one gets left to the wolves.
Living less than 30s roll away I will be there.
I might just go the pub here.
the bolton massive if you want to I'll be out round rivvy
How far away do you think Hebden is?
Managed to rearrange my trip to brum so rear gunner reporting for duty sah!!!!. I shall sort suitable artwork out in the morning to commemorate the occasion. Might have a couple of new recruits too
bout an hour away fornwhich means after pub drive home shower its well past midnight. Im a girl and normally in bed by 10.
If I negate the pub I reckon Id be back for half 11ish.
Need a 9-5 job
Hmm food for thought.
This is a good incentive to do that brake bleed I've been putting off.
Yeah, I felt kinda silly winging about my brakes when yours were much closer to the bars 🙂
I'd love to come out, it's been too long.
Bonnets, can I borrow that book? (Shock doctrine), ta!
Would their be room for a MNPR b team? I've joined a couple of rides at Prestwich but the big hill stuff is out of my comfort zone. But a regular Monday night at Prestwich I would more likely attend. Don't know it well enough to lead it but would be interested. Quite happy to join up and have a chat.
May I join in with all the other newbies?
I will be out as i can only come out every other week now due to the wife working. Will Be coming straight home afterwards it,s an hours drive from mine.
Barry
1 Shed, do what you want. It's a free World!
If we do Littleborough in a couple of weeks you should come and have a go. It is sort of half way on the "big hill stuff" scale.
Being so far from home I'm tempted to go straight from work and get some grub at the pub. I think a pint will also help with the ride. Probably go straight home afterwards. Does anyone know if the pub does food?
The Oldgate? Its for rich southern types who moved back up and buy-to-let Landlords?
Chippy is around the corner 😀

Yes it does. Quite good food too.
Hora
Can't get a pint at the chippy though.
BTW. Who are you calling Southern? 😡
Quite a lot of snow falling this morning, and yesterday, and now.... bring warm things
From my perch half way down Blue Pig I can see....nothing at all 😆
Some pretty good beers on in OldGate right now.
Ryperbole from Magic Rock on keg at £4.60 a pint.
There's a Thornbridge Russian Imperial Stout.
The Chopper Stout from 6 Deg North is incredible, but more like a dark saison than a stout really.
Non of those are what I'd call "driving" beers though.
Once I can walk up the hill I'm fine 🙂
for various reasons, i think i'll be giving tonight a miss.
I've just checked the weather forecast and a 30 mile drive "up t' valley" in heavy snow is a little daft.
I'm oot.
Guys, the roads aren't looking great round here, it's taken me 45 mins to get from Heptonstall to Hebden Bridge (very gingerly down the hill) and there were at least 2 collisions that I saw, turned promptly around, and came straight back home (very gingerly).
Still snowing
All else fails, we can still just go to the pub.
It's not snowing in Hebden Bridge.
It's snowing in Heptonstall, Brant.
Shall we just go for a pint? 😆
Why not make it Rivi or is that the same?
It's snowing in Heptonstall, Brant.
If it's raining in Heb, it'll be snowing in Heptonstall 😉
The suns out now!
Shall we just go for a pint?
I've got a presentation to get to Print Bureau for 12, then I'm free.
Owing to transport I shall be unable to attend this evening and will have to await another opportunity to loose my MNPR cherry. Enjoy.
So is anyone going to be turning up to ride then?

The sun is out now.
snow has pretty much gone, or is going. (slightly disappointing)
Right, well I'll be outside the Gate at 8.15 anyway.
I'll be there.
It's a motorway and a massive main road all the way from here to there, so I'm not expecting to be be stranded in the car.
I'll have a mountain bike with me anyway. ready for owt.
I'm going to miss. Light issues.
Roads are all fine. I'll see y'all there at 8.15 in the car park. Two ups, two downs, pints in pub. Sorted.
The chippy round the corner hasn't been open for a couple of years, Hora...
Won't be braking my duck just yet. But will be at the Littleborugh in a few weeks. Can ride there from my house
Sorry but for the first time this year - i'm out!
Have a good evening!
Well I was really looking forward to this one but unless the blinding headache I've had since yesterday disappears in the next 30mins, I'm not going to make it. Bloody annoying. 👿
I'll be there.
hmmm tied to my laptop finishing a project*
*not done by a colleague; cheers.... 🙄
Chips round the corner 'corner! Round from Natwest.
Beer beer beer beer beer ... No one died and my SS was fine. Beer beer beer beer beer.
Excellent ride last night good mix of climbs and downhill sections.
Barry
did you all stay in the pub for ages after I left? I've heard stories of hangovers this morning...
I was there till closing, as was Chipps, Clover and a few others...I have a feeling I may be responsible for at least one hangover by buying a pint of beer I didn't know was 7% for someone...
News of extended beer drinking is just rubbing salt into the wounds now.
Nice picture GFS!
Unintentionall Monday drinking was an interesting start to work today. Thankfully at a conference all day.
I need to get a lift next time by somebody who likes to stay late and doesn't drink. I can't believe I had to pick one of the weakest beers and that was around 5%.
Excellent ride as well as pub.
I walked in the pub and suddenly wanted to get slaughtered, leave the car in the car park and ride/wobble home.
sort of glad I didn't.
You'll have to come back for a Saturday bike ride and pub session then, Jase! And if anyone else would like an extended tour of the valley, I'm happy to play tour guide if I'm around...
ace. good idea.

Great idea. Combine the two and do a Calderdale pub-crawl by bike?
Well we passed at least 7 pubs on last nights ride...
just that pub we went to last night will do.
Well I'm in whatever the plan. It combines my two favourite activities 🙂
Combine the two and do a Calderdale pub-crawl by bike?
I'd definitely be up for either, I don't know the riding round Hebden at all so a guided tour would be ace. Same goes for the pubs.
And I could probably get back home by train, too. Hmmm...
*HIC*
