Will see if I can make it back in time but it's not looking good. May come and join you for the pub bit anyway. 🙂

There'll be a couple of ups, a couple of downs, no death-gnar and a decent pint at the end of it...

A cold?

Looks like the pubs going to be busy afterwards anyway. Is there now a social membership for the Monday Night Club, like at a golf club? 😀

Not charged my lights so no can do 🙁 Got to clean the house too before the cleaners come tomorrow (no, I can't see the logic in that either).

But, rode Hebden yesterday - nice and dry, loamy etc. Enjoy!

I'm still in. Though it looks like I'll be the sole representative of the Rammy contingent. If it's owt like Rammy then the trails have dried out nicely. See you later!

I know. Can't be helped I'm afraid

Seeing as the trails are drying out, could I be so bold as to suggest a Cragg Quarry jaunt next week, starting from Edenfield? Its a belter. In fact, it looks like thats tonights destination.

Is that it then? Just the three of us?

wittonweavers has texted me from his death bed this afternoon (hope the fingernail heals quickly Craig)

As for the rest of the usual suspects. You need to take a good look out of the window at the lovely weather.

And have a bloody good word with yourselves!!!!

Rivington next week it is then. As no members of Ramsbottom Shithouse Velo CC turned up we have decided that they can stick Cragg Quarry up their lazy Splitter backsides 😉

Details to follow in Thursday.

If we were playing Night Ride Bingo last night I would have got points for.

1. Car full of dope smokers

2. Bleeding shin

3. Getting my helmet stuck in branches leaving me dangling by my chin strap, hands off the bars but feet still clipped in.

Star of the night has to be the big fella (sorry, I still don’t know your name despite seeing you every week!) for the heroic overtake on The Blue Pig and the kamikaze attempt at Bolty (?) Steps.

To quote Douglas Adams: Ten out of ten for style, minus several million for good thinking.

Bregante’s karma induced piano-down-a-lift-shaft approach to the steps at the bottom of Peckett Well deserves a mention in despatches also.

Yes, the cheek was notable by its absence 😥

It was great to get out and meet a few new folk on the trails though, and it's a real bonus when you can put the bike back in the car CLEAN! (almost unheard-of)

Its a good job we didn't join you. One of The Peoples Popular Front Splitters (who shall remain nameless - Lee) hadn't grasped that when your brake pads are constantly squealing, it might be worth checking if they are actually brake pads any more. Or just two metal plates being forced ineffectively onto a metal disc. Made for an entertaining descent down to Owd Betts

We'll be at Rivi next week though. I want to see Hora the reverse vampire eat his words (or eat a big rock on one of the descents)

Who needs cheek when you have more than enough great legal stuff that the Monday night lot had never ridden before?

Whilst i know that any suggestion that i might turn up would be greeted with skepticism, I will try and get there next week! Man Flu is definitely clearing up now!

Its a good time to visit rivvi at the moment as for the next 2 weeks the pike is lit up. I'm not saying that that makes the climbing any easier but it does look good!

Binners my only 'proper' night ride was Rivi and I'm not really a fan on riding round there. I like trees either side of the trail (or in view) 8)

A 99% legal Hebden ride. Wrong wrong wrong

I remember a rabid 'local' who was physically shoving me around on the cheeky off the top of Heptonstall early one Sunday morning.

He was saying 17 of your idiots regularly come down here on Wednesday nights in the dark. Props to him for being able to accurately count the riders 😆

It'll be dark. You could be riding past The Dallas Cowgirls at a foam party and you wouldn't know.

Somebody needs to put together an "Excuse Bingo" card.

My winking smiley was missed off the quote above. We rode Hebden on Sunday - did a couple of cheeky descents (but missed anything off Heptonstall as there were quite a few people around) but did Peckett Well and Alis Zig Zags both of which were riding really well. The Zig Zags are almost back to their flat out but still rocky enough to catch you out best after the 'improvements' a few years back.

Is the plan still to meet at Bobs Smithy on Monday 24th?

If it is I’ll start a new thread tomorrow with confirmed details.

Is Bolton close enough for the members of R.S.V.C.C and can anybody lend Hora some lights?

The R.S.V.C.C will be in full effect on Monday. My spare lights are presently out on loan. I wouldn't worry about it though. Theres absolutely no chance he'll actually turn up. The holy trinity of volume of trees, amount of ambient light, and percentage moisture content in the air needed to meet his needs, only align at precisely mid-day on two days of the year, in July 😀

Ah yes, lesson learned. Best not to laugh at another riders misfortune until you have successfully negotiated the obstacle yourself 😳
