Should be ok for Monday. Plenty of rain forecast for the weekend so it may be a wet one!

Expecting plenty of standard MNPR excuses in the coming days...

I hope the gale force winds are still around. Black Stone Edge is great fun in high winds 😀

The promo posters have definitely developed a consistent style over the last few months.
For the past few weeks the first question that has popped into my head is, 'Would that work as a t-shirt?' 🙂

If this mornings ride was anything to go by, it will indeed be very very soggy.

In!

Got my excuses in last Monday for the next few weeks though was looking forward to a Littleborough ride, sorry Binners you'll have to fly solo as rear gunner.
Good luck to the Strathpeffer contingent for this weekend

Good luck with the shoulder Brennak! It will feel like a while before you are back out with us on a Monday Night - but do not fear, you can indulge yourself in a little Virtual MNPR action and not even need a shower afterwards...!

I anticipate that the image above might be a little difficult to read on here so this is a link to a larger image. Have fun!

Nope. Still nothing.

Are you sure you did this yourself? You can't even get the bloody link to work!

Perhaps you could email it to somebody more competent? 😀

Good work on the Snakes & Ladders WW. I had a giggle, but only got side eye from the Mrs. while watching Death in Paradise.

I'm afraid I'm in that London so won't make it.

Scaled - if you are referring to the virtual MNPR game then yes, sadly it has! Owd Betts near edenfield was closed last autumn and the yew tree near rivington was closed in 2013.

Never a good end to a pub ride!!!

Oh no! Get well soon...

It was hosing it down and pretty soggy as I stumbled my way down to the station this morning. Not going to be dusty tonight...

Hope you've not done yourself too much damage Andy.

I think we might be more appropriate to try a spot of kite surfing in Hollingsworth Lake instead. We'd probably end up slightly drier. 😀

What route are we doing? The Mordor traverse will be... erm.... 'interesting' in this wind. I've done it before in conditions like this. Its character building

I remember being up there one Saturday afternoon in really high winds. Daft really. I don't know what we were bloody thinking. We just started the Mordor Traverse and leaning with your full body weight into the wind to stay upright. Then we had on one those proper 'OH SHIT!' moments, as a huge black cloud came rolling in, and it started torrentially hail-stoning.

With the wind, It was literally like being bead-blasted!! There really nowhere to hide up there

Met Office predicts that the wind speed will drop and it won't rain.

Anyone not riding tonight needs to turn up anyway with a note from their responsible adult.

I was up on the top of the moors round there yesterday and it was surprisingly rideable. It's soggy but not a complete quagmire. The wind was a bit blowy but only if you're a soft shandy drinking type. I know how robust and weather defying we all are so doubt it'll be a problem 🙂

I'll be there whatever tonight. Hopefully some others will be.

A Singletrack member called binners
Went to Greggs far too often for dinners
But when it is wet,
Do you fancy a bet?
If he'll show?
I know who will be winners.

The 60 mile round trip, combined with the M60 road works put me off this week.

I ended up hanging a mirror in the bathroom and putting up a new curtain track in the front room. What a waste of a pass out!

Another good night of riding rather than sitting in front of the TV. On the up side - not too cold, not windy and no rain. Counter balanced nicely by a torrent of water and mud spraying up from below!

Scaled - the M60 might be down to 50 mile an hour but overall it adds very little time to the overall journey! it took me 35 minutes to get there from Bromley cross so not bad at all really.

Next week Turton. Havent made my mind up yet which pub... watch for the post on Thursday!

Russ - i take it you havent posted your picture on the 'Photos that you are proud of' thread?!

A bloke that we shall just called "Susan"
Caused Monday Night Pub Ride Confusion
He said he'd be riding
But instead he stayed hiding
I'm starting to think he's an illusion.

There once was a rider called binners,
who liked to eat pies for dinners.
But one night when it was dirt-y,
he thought "This looks hurt-y"
So he stayed home, and left the riding to winners 😉

Bregante, you should question your suspects through the medium of poetry. That’ll freak ‘em out.

Perhaps chuck in some contemporary dance whilst you are at it.

Here’s one I’ve composed for you based on our conversation last night. Apologies in advance.

The once was a copper named Russy
Who’s preference for bikes was full-sussy
Whilst raiding a house
The criminal’s spouse
Tried putting him off with her… err… all over orange tan.

There was a young lady of orange,
Who didn't rhyme with anything so she never had a poem written for her which was very unfortunate as she had amazing.....

I think we should call binners "Mary"
His head really could not be less hairy
A renowned love of ale
But mud makes him go pale
We all think that he's just a big fairy

There was a big copper called Russ
who called everyone else a big wuss
He'd road bike through Cheshire
Mountain bike in all weather
But mention BMX and theres all bloody manner of half cocked excuses being trotted out 😛

About binners no show last night
I'm starting to feel a bit tight
If it's any use
He gave an excuse
He had to design a website
