Church Inn, Prestwich M25 1AJ
8:15 blast off
Bring money for beer and pie

I thought that we’d give Prestwich a go because the pub sells pie, the trails are mostly hardpack, the route isn’t too hilly (for all those who ate too much pie over Christmas) and the pub sells pie.

yep - should be ok this week.

Its become noticable that the speed of the end climb back up the clough has increased due to the need to get the chilli jam pies first...

Since the recent good news there can be only one choice for those more dietary conscious among us 😀

Pie doesn't count.

I’ll get the wife to punish me with a stick of celery when I get in.

Can we have less of the passive aggressive stuff from the vegetarians please?

If they had a fridge behind the bar with a selection of omelettes and humous you wouldn't hear us complaining 😛

Subject to the Mrs getting home at a decent time I'm going to try to make it tomorrow just so I can evaporate puddles and melt any carbon bikes with my new front light/miniature sun 8)

Not looking great at the minute as the Mrs is stuck in a slowly moving northbound car park (M6). Fingers crossed though.

Bit off subject but if anyone is out and about riding around the ressies of north Bolton then watch out for a missing bridge on the path between Turton Bottoms and The Jumbles.

Not far after the slabbed section alongside the river, there is / was a bridge that was always pretty slippy and was positioned at 90 degrees to the trail. Well, its gone!

There is a large diameter waterpipe spanning the stream but it looks pretty iffy for crossing on - especially with cleats on!

Got a massive headache, got completely soaked on the way home, and I forgot to charge my lights. If anyone wants to come over this way next week I can do a weatherproof(ish) ride from either Littlebrough or Tod. It might make me get off my arse and come out.

Enjoyed that. Just what I needed after my half marathon yesterday. Though breaking my glasses after 3 miles was a pain in the hole.

I enjoyed that last night! First time i have ridden a MNPR since October other than BMX and a burger night!

found the pace quite fast, or at least the lack of stopping quite tiring!

Wet, muddy, cold(ish) but bloody good fun!
