Church Inn M25 1AJ
8:15 blast off
Bring beer money

No big hills this week so we’ll do some fast low level stuff… like this, but slower and on pushbikes in the dark.

[img] [/img]

…although the price of a new one is similar.

Did my last session at San Marino last Monday so would have been in next Monday. My work in Manchester has finished now, so I won't be able to come 🙁

Good to meet you all for the rides over the Summer, some great places! 🙂

(Least I'm not having to do the 5.30am drive up from Derby, 3 days a week now!)

Harry's singlespeeding it apparently. A couple of us heading over from Rammy. Looks like its going to be a decent night for it. Tally ho!

Feeling ghastly (man [s]cold[/s] zombie plague) but I’ll be there in some capacity this evening, even if it is just to say “hello” then come straight home again. I didn’t spend a good 15 minutes yesterday bringing the Inbred back to life just to put the damn thing back in the shed again.

Meh.

Can’t do next week either as it is my son’s birthday apparently.

Yep, Redbull TV does a catch-up thing though. I'm going to sneakily watch it tomorrow morning at work whilst pretending to do something unfathomable with spreadsheets.

I'm still in so if HtS can't make it from his sick bed then I do a very good line in getting lost around those parts.

Looks like its just l'il 'ol me from Rammy. Might just be me and thee stumbling around the woods then....

[img] [/img]

EDIT: I really wish I'd not made that reference now. I'm just remembering all that mad witchcraft stuff they found in the walls of the pub when they did it up. And all rides are starting in the dark now.

What was that noise?

EEEEK!!!!!

Don’t forget that the woods used to be called “Asylum Clough” before they decided that “Mere Clough” sounded less axemurderery.

If you think that somebody is watching you they probably are. If you don’t think somebody is watching you they are, but they are very, very good at.

Have fun.

If I get home from work in time to drive all the way back to Manc I'll be there. It's tempting to come straight from work but I'm guessing it's not very rideable on a carbon roadie with slick tyres.

I might ride down there, and while you lot go out for a ride, just sit drinking Kronenberg and gorge myself on pies and crisps. Then hurl abuse at you all when you get back, and projectile vomit around the beer garden 😀

Still not certain that i can make it - if i do then it will be me plus 2.

As a suggestion, what about a re-run of this blast from the past:

Right then. I'll come down but if my cough is going to rattle me to bits I'm going straight back home to watch Strictly with the missus.

Have a good ride folks.

I bought that monster front light and won't get to use it much now 🙁

(Just done a 300 mile round trip for a 1 hour meeting. 🙂 )

And the good people of Belmont are thrown into a panic now that the "second moon" that they've been offering sacrifices to has stopped appearing on the hill above the San Marino 😀

I blame the artisan pies.

Anyone else got serious nettle tingle around the shins?

My legs are:

A) free of mud (mrs Binners gave me that 'you've just been in the pub, haven't you?' look)
B) full of nettle stings ( pointed out as a retort to the 'you've just been in the pub, haven't you?' look)

Not really what you expect at the end of September really. Bloody great run tonight chaps! And the pork and black pudding pie was positively orgasmic 😀

We did hang around for you for a bit. We didn't get far before we had an extended tubeless catastrophe ourselves. Well.... Bregante did. We all stood around and made predictable sarcy remarks about inner tubes, and their relative merits 😉

Cheers lads, good route that. Might even bring the cross bike next time. Pity the pub doesn't do veggie pork pies. A packet of seabrooks crisps didn't quite make up the calorie deficit.

Suffering a bit this morning with “cougher’s ribs” and the side effects of eating an artisan pork pie (jerk, apparently) with the density of a house brick at 11:00pm. The khazi though it had been depth charged this morning.

[img] [/img]

Enjoyed taking the single speed out for its annual spin although you Strava Hunters vanished over the horizon on the Poo Works Sprint. Apart from that and a couple of short sharp climbs it was ideal for riding round there. I even bagged a couple of PBs on it.

I’ll have to sort out the chain tensioner thingy for next year’s ride.
