Rawtenstall apparently.
Binners has a plan.
Unlikely I'm afraid, but if plans change, is this going to be a BH weekend early start/longer ride?
depends what time I get back from the Cairngorms Loop. and if I'n not dead.
Binners has a plan.
and it appears that Mrs Binners has other plans...
Just had an e-mail. Binners has binned us off. 😀
[s]Craig has it covered though.[/s] Or not, stealth edit as I was typing.
Sorry. I just do as I'm told. 😳
I was just doing a nice piece of artwork too. It'll do for the week after maybe? 😀
We're only going over to Hebden Bridge though. So if anyone fancies a ride there on Sunday...?
I was expecting a star wars themed poster this week too
What's the new plan?
What's the new plan?
What about something a bit different? A sojourn south to Marple/New Mills?
gah family stuff again !!
got to go to Sicily for a week 🙂
I'd be up for that dazh.
Roman Lakes-ish?
Shhhh: Don't tell that nbt though cos he'll only turn up showing off on his single speed 🙄
Roman Lakes-ish?
Yeah I was thinking start at Marple Bridge, through Roman Lakes - Lantern Pike - Hayfield - Middle Moor - Rowarth - Mellor Cross - Strines - Marple Bridge
Basically this route but starting and finishing in marple with an extra loop taking in middle moor from hayfield.
That's if we're thinking an early start*. If a late start we can cut out the Hayfield/Middle Moor bit which will make it a bit shorter.
*I need to confirm I can do an early start first, shouldn't be a problem though.
...and for anyone concerned about driving times, google maps says 30mins from the M66/M62 Junction (in rush hour).
Oooooh, my stomping grounds 😀
Something like this? There's loads of little loops you can throw in
https://www.strava.com/activities/196620356
Yup that's exactly what I was thinking, except going up linnet clough and down strines seeing as the Strawberry downhill has been flattened.
Any pub recommendations?
We normally park up at the ringers* but the car park will be busy on a BH monday.
There's ample parking on the road by there though, i'm sure NBT will be along to advise.
Rounds have been getting more expensive in there of late but it's still the closest thing i've got to a local.
*Ring 'o bells
To save going up and over the cross twice you can go along the canal* and down to strines stations, up to the fox then have a nice** climb up the golf course to the top of Zig
*depending on the weather
**Challenging
Sounds like a good plan to me. Never been down that way before.
What time?
I'm easy on the time. Not overly fussed about an early start. Perhaps a slightly earlier time of 7 or 7.30pm? Others can decide, I don't have young kids so makes little difference to me.
Yep, have shiny shiny new bike, will be out
I'll be up for it Daz. I would prefer a 6.30 / 7 start just so i'm not back too late. Probably had enough of family stuff by Monday anyway. 🙂
Ooh, just spotted this, I'm in. Not fussed on time.
Shall we say 7 then at the Ring o' bells? (b*gger just realised it's a robinsons pub. That'll be me drinking lager then!)
130 Church Lane, Marple, Cheshire SK6 7AY
Bring money for beer.
I'd be up for that dazh.

I don't own a singlespeed anymore. Knee problems 🙁 Am away or I'd offer guiding.
Parking can be a bugger round there unless you;re on the pub car park. Mark the landlord is ok with people parking while they ride, as long as you go into support local business afterwards of course. Narrow roads all round so on-street parking not great. Maybe consider parking down the hill around The Rec on Arkwright Road or Oldknow road. The Navigation is close to that location as well. All pubs in Marple are Robbie's pubs. Atleast the Ringers have Hartley's Cumbria Way on tap at the moment
All pubs in Marple are Robbie's pubs.
One of the reasons I never moved to Marple 🙂
30 miles+ is bit too much for me at the moment I'll give it miss might see what Binners is up to in Hebden
wittonweavers - Memberand it appears that Mrs Binners has other plans...
brennak - MemberI'll give it miss might see what Binners is up to in Hebden
Make a sure you keep the curtains drawn binners 😯
Oh or maybe I won't don't think of these thing after a certain age
Nobody was suggesting 30 miles, the strava link that Daz put up involved him riding to Marple from Manchester!
No definitely not 30 miles. The short route is about 20k, the longer one closer to 30km. A day after the Dyfi Enduro there's no way I want to be riding 30 miles either 🙂
Right who's out/in/whatever then?
I'm in, see you at 7.
In.
Yep, I'm in.
Plans have changed, I'm oot
In.
should be in...
I'll be out with Gaz and Martin.
Just had a big day out with the family. Got loads of stuff to do. 🙁
I'm oot.
We seem to still be in Coed y Brenin.... guess that's out then 🙁
On the upside Coed y Brenin in the DRY!! 😀
For those who missed this. You missed another absolute belter.
Cheers to Daz and Kai for leading. And I hope there's no lasting damage Daz! 🙂
Mrs daz patched me up. No major damage by the looks of it. Might even have to go to work tomorrow 🙁
I know there's a lot of climbing, Craig, but at least you got some sort of structure/construction on top of a hill.
Back to towers next week?
OoooH that's my patch.
dazh - where did you fall off?
Hope you're mending.
dazh - where did you fall off?
On a (I suspect cheeky) bit off Ridge Road. Funny thing was he almost decapitated himself on a low branch first and we all rode past chuckling.
So we missed the faceplant just moments later.
