There seems to be a loop around here but it starts from Ruthin. Can I start from Mold to avoid driving that far out?

Anyone fancy joining me?

You might want to plan according to the weather forecast, Met Office has a thunderstorm warning for Sunday covering most of Wales.

I’ve done this route, start in Ruthin. No reason you could start in Mold, but itll be a bit of uphill and roads, probably jump on the route at the lower Mt Famau carpark.IMit definitely won’t be as much fun that way as the “normal” way ends with a great down hill and you’ll be heading to Mold, which will also include a bit of uphill and roads. Good luck with the weather.

Thunder storms not set to roll in before 14.00-ish Plenty of time to get a ride in.

Start where ever. We started on the Northern part near Caerwys. Good loop loads of climbing. Make sure you take food or build in a detour to a pub or village. It's a good day out. We did the big MBR loop.

Not worried about the weather for several reasons:

1 - it's too soon to tell.

2 - currently showing wet in the afternoon, I can get done before that.

3 - MTBing is the wet weather option.

4 - I'm not made of sugar.

🙂

I guess when I say Mold, I mean as far east as I can start the route. Might be the 'lower car park'?
