Looking for something a bit special, something which will last beyond the latest trend, something made with a eye for longevity.

Turner?
Heckler?

Any other contenders that you could ride for years and get pleasure from owning?

My Trek Fuel is great but lacking in any specialness.

Pretty much anything made by Nicolai, not a Taiwanese mass produced frame for sure.

Good call, like the attention to detail all the German makers seem to exhibit.

singular swift, suspension fads come and go, but rigid SS will always be the same!

My other (aesthetically pleasing) bike is a Sanderson Life, currently built as a 69er, which whilst Taiwan made does have a certain niceness to it.
