The time has come for our annual assault on Pendle Hill.

8:15 blast off from the car park in Sabden. BB7 9EW.

Chances are that the pub won’t be open.

Bring your climbing trousers!

Not me, I'll be carrying as little as possible after the best part of 2 months off the bike. I'll even cut my toe nails to save 0.2g.

Ooooh! I have a new route if anyone fancies? It would mean changing the pub though to one that will be open.

Do you need the 'special' bike then Harry? 😉

I _think_ I'm free too...

Daz. What is the alternate pub?

Chipps, I'd love to but I feel I should do it on my biologically powered machine. Let someone else have a go.

Pendle Inn, Barley. I have no idea if it's open on a Monday night though. There's a couple of routes from there, both involving a steep climb.

Got a route profile? I've not ridden for 2 months, so the prospect of pushing a bike up to 2,000ft isn't that appealing.

Always wanted to give Pendle a go, and have a (currently) fully working bike too. Count me in

Route profile is basically an inverted V 😉

Seriously though, it is steep. Last time I did it I had to stop for a rest, but it is all rideable. If walking is required, it's only a short section of a couple of hundred metres.

Also it's a loop instead of an out and back, and involves the usual descent with a variation.

I've texted you with it. (don't really want to link to my strava on here)

Seen it. Thanks.

If I die I will take you with me.

According to the website the pub will be open.

You won't die as long as you don't fall off on the bit where you shouldn't really fall off 🙂

I think it's safe to say that if Daz has to get off for a rest, then you'll be calling in an air ambulance for me at that point

Didn't manage to check out the route at the weekend so come with an adventurous outlook. What could possibly go wrong? 🙂

It'll be fine. There's only one short bit I've not ridden before and it's not much different to the bit that comes before it.

Besides I think Chipps is coming, and he's got a first aid certificate and an emergency shelter 🙂

All the routes up Pendle hill are footpaths.

Or alternative bridleways as we know them around here.
