Dear Susan's

We will be setting off on le Tour de Reservoirs at 8.15 on Monday evening from the Hare and Hounds, Holcombe. Or sitting in the Hare and Hounds, with a pint, watching the rain batter against the window. One of the two.

Forecast is pretty much much constant rain between now and then. Hey ho

Love

Susan

Beer in a pub, you say? Does it have a log burner?

Oh, and it's Susans and not Susan's...

If I say I'm in I'll definitely never make it, so I'm out (but I'll make sure my bike's working and try my damndest not to fall asleep after tea this time).

I do love apostrophe pedantry. I think in this case you should go with the professional writer's view.

I see it's due to stop raining around 6pm Monday. It's like the weather gods are smiling on us, just like the last couple of weeks.

Well its looking good for later. Its forecast heavy rain all day today, on top of days of heavy rain, high winds and more rain

I won't be along. Just back from two days tidying out my fathers house. Throwing away other peoples memories is oddly cathartic.

Forecast for this evening looks cold, clear and dry (other than the surface water).

Unless fate conspires to take a poo in my cycling shoes and wipe its bum on my gloves again I shall be there.

Right... **** this!

I've just been out and it is absolutely sheeting down. Horizontally! The standing water is ridiculous, and there are streams running down the roads. Its not stopped raining for days, and its not about too any time soon.

If you fancy going out, thats your look out. Theres no way I'm going out there in this.

So there!

The rain has stopped for the evening. Is anyone out anywhere?

3 weeks off the bike and I’m putting on weight!

Some of the roads around the Hare and Hounds are now closed due to flooding. If you are going to ride anywhere, don't head out this way!

For once I'm actually relieved that I can't make a ride. Grim out there today. I'll be riding in the garage again for an hour if I'm lucky...

So does that mean there are no riders at all tonight?

The weather calm in Prestwich, so I might just go for a ride down the clough for an hour, maybe less.

It took me an hour and a half to get back from Bury to Rammy last night. It'd have been quicker by canoe. he M66 was closed due to flooding, and so was Bolton Road. All fun and games

Hey ho! Shall we try again next week?

Its still raining...

I went for a swim at the new pool in Radcliffe (900m, got cramp and needed a wee) as it was drier than riding my bike.

Also, there was only one other person in there and I soon scared him off.

A 900m pool. That is quite big.

Rode in Prestwich clough and towards the bottom of Philips Park last night and all I can say is 'wow that is a lot of mud and water!' This rain needs to quit or we are going to drown.
