Duncan has offered to show us a hard pack Rivvi that shouldn’t involve too much mud. After that we’ll do a bike ride.

Duncan – Name your pub.

8:15 blast off

Bring money for beer, a sense of adventure and something to bite down on.

Chipps also mentioned going to Gisburn. We'll have a chat to see if it is do-able for the 14th.

Jolly crofters as per it's open to 12....

It's not gonna be a massive loop as my knee is still not right.

But we have some nice options... anyone want any requests

Ice cream run?
Johnys drop?

Or a really knarly singletrack track decent into the quarry

Or we could all pile to mine for a brew

Brew as in mug of tea, or is it another filthy euphemism?

On the subject of Gisburn... Would anyone be up for it? It is a little outside our usual range for a school night.

I'm up for Rivvi

I'd also be up for Gisburn but would need to get a flyer from work as it's an hour and a half trip for me

Pub address

Chorley Old Rd, Horwich, Bolton BL6 6RE

I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks so I'm not allowed to injure myself. I will be mincing down The Ice Cream Run. As usual.

I'm in. I've hardly ridden a bike in the last couple of months, so I'll be so far behind you all it'll be like a solo ride.

Or I might just punch Dunc in the knee periodically to slow him down

As my family are 200 miles away for the next few days, I'm struggling to come up with excuses this week but I will be mincetastic.

Bikeless and waiting for the new steed (spanking new Trance 2 as it happens, too cheap in the sales to pass on) which should arrive on Tuesday (get in!) However, definitely up for Gisburn if that gets the green light..

I feel your pain brother. Having just opened my inbox after a week off, I can safely say my chances of making it out tonight are about the same as the chances of me suddenly sprouting wings and having the ability to fly.

Still.... at least that means the sun should be out for the rest of you, and you don't have to wait around at the top of every climb for me

Well it rained last night so hard it's washed part of the lane away.

On the plus side it's not muddy....

If I’m not there by 8:15 don’t wait.

Mrs Spider has very sensibly pointed out that our family holiday next week is entirely dependent on me being able to drive and a tumble down the Ice Cream Run would end up fatal, either as a result of the initial fall or by being beaten to death when I got home/lay immobilized in hospital. I drove to Suffolk a couple of years ago with two green thumbs and a suspected broken wrist. It wasn’t pleasant.

So… I’m going to karate instead ? 😀

We don't have to do the Icr

It'll be like a river....

I've got an easier route down if you want it
