Just so I don't get myself in trouble, are we perving here or pretending we're not perving?

I say it's about time Women got some backing in this damn Man biased sport of ours..

And good that they are promoting the fact.

And for what it's worth, they're all a lovely looking bunch.

Cinnamon Girl - I'm posting this as I'm very hopeful that this will be a solid platform to increase the profile of women's cycling (especially in light of the critism from Nicole Cooke following her retirement from women's cycling).

Blimey, that's a beast of a team. Good luck to them.

I quite like the kits but those bikes are pretty gopping.

Here’s to a great day with inspirational people doing amazing things. I think it might just have been a landmark moment in cycling. We’ll have to see if we look back in twenty years and say, ‘yup, that was the point where it changed’. For the better.

Does Tyler Hamilton really think he can get away with cycling in a girls team? (Group photo the one in the middle of the team!)

About time womens cycling got some publicity. Pretty sure that sex appeal was a big factor in putting the team together but as long as it gives the sport the promotion it desperately needs, is that a bad thing?

If this is what you look like after doping then start handing out the E.P.O. to one and all.

Good luck girls and good to see Honda and Wiggle backing the team

Fantastic. Too long has cycling been an embarrassing example of blatant sexist discrimnation. It is about time that things starting to equal about. I mean really look back over the history of professional cycling and what do you see?
Nothing but the blatant sexual exploitation of men, displayed for the world to see in tight lycra. I suppose to all those dirty old women out there it has been acceptable but the worm is turning. Women shall have equal exposure! 😆

The dudette in the middle(Georgia Bronzini-had to look her up)had me confused at first I really did think it was a bloke(thought it was one of the coaches)

Good luck to them nice to see a big name backing womens cycling.

Shame Wiggle dumped their mtb athletes to fund their participation in this though. Guess Matt Page isn't as 'sexy' as a womens road team, regardless of results....

Matt is a cracking rider, but he isn't even that big a name in mtbing-he's what, mid pack in elites....endurance stuff he is obviously awesome, but that isn't exactly the worlds most popular sport is it?

That women's cycling teams looks really top notch. Bronzini is one of the top handful of female roadies in the world. Elinor Barker looks like an excellent prospect then you've got the nations favourite female athletes in King, Trott and Row sell on board.

Its a shame that the MTB team has gone, but you can hardly blame wiggle (bike radar forumites would love that line)

Yes it is good that there is a high profile woman's team and some money behind them and yes to start with they might get some PR/talked about because of how they look (witch is very nice) but as I lucky enough to meet/chat to a few of them last year (and raced ageist one few more years ago) I am SURE their legs are going to do the talking in the races and get some top results, and the PR train will be for the right reason, as they are VERY hard working, dedicated bunch of cyclists.

Indeed.
The risk of having your photograph published for the launch of a new international sponsored professional road team is very real and threatening.

How is it off-putting for women to see elite sportswomen who still look feminine?

Would a team of Russian shot putter look-a-likes make more women want to be good at sport?

Would it make me a prude if I reported a few of the posts on here (the ones I'm surprised are still here)? It's not as if I'm offended, and I'm quite happy to admit to clicking on this thread partly to look at nice pictures of women (I'd suggest any heterosexual male on this thread denying that is likely to be lying). However there are a few posts which have gone over the line IMHO.

Good thing for women's cycling, which makes it a good thing for cycling as a whole. They are easy on the eye - but then that will help them a lot with the marketing.

Rochelle Gilmour is hardly backward in promoting her obvious good looks and sex appeal on the bike, google her name ad you will get more than enough. Just ake sure the Kleenex is close to hand.

Aracer - exactly. A good rule-of-thumb is what would you think if those comments were about your girlfriend or daughter.

It's fantastic that women's cycling is getting some good high-profile coverage and sponsorship - and it's a pity they can't be appreciated for their cycling talent not their looks.

As I said good luck to them, and I hope they get paid. But at the end of the day watching women pro cycling is like watching me ride ( middle aged taxi driver ) apart from the very top, I'm a few months of proper full time training away from holding my own in a female pro peleton ( as are hundreds if not thousands of other blokes ). It's up to women to get behind womens pro cycling and spend their money , if they don't why should I ?

I've done a fair bit of photography in the past for our National Cycling body.

Champs level, Women were always the ones that got the most page views by a long stretch from the Men.

Women's cycling I'd put money into that if I was an advertising type for sure.

Its pretty sad when a few posts , which are not vulgar or distasteful, are felt to be needed reported. TV must absolutely make there eyes bleed with horror
