I found a 180mm rotor and front post brake mount while cleaning out the spares box and decided to convert my 160mm IS mount rear brake to 180. Without thinking much about it I did this ...IMG_20230912_160915472

..which is essentially put the 180 front adapter on top of the 160 rear adapter. Works fine, pads are centred and nothing is touching anything it shouldn't be.

But will i die on the first big descent?

Pretty sure I have 180mm both back and front but might the leverage be too much for the frame?

Well I didn't even consider that. It's a 2018 steel Marin Pine Mountain...

It won't make any difference to the loads on the frame. A 160mm rotor is plenty powerful enough to lock the back tyre on dry tarmac. The leverage on the frame is determined by the braking force the tyre can generate, not the type of mount you use or the size of your rotor.

I don't know why that offends me so but it does, you won't die but you'll have to live with the shame of your perversion 🫣😀
