Would XT/SLX cranks, shifter & mech work with Sram cassette?

If so what chain?

Thanks.

Great cheers.

Am I right in thinking that a medium cage mech is ok for cassettes up to 42T and a 46T + over would need a long cage?

Sram is 10-42 on the cassette ( bigger range than 11-46) it's only an issue if you want a shimano cassette

Ah that shows my little knowledge 🙂 still running 10 speed!

In that case I'll stick with shimano freehub and go for shimano or sunrace cassette to give me better climbing due to being unfit!

Thanks again.

Point missed there a bit

Basic version is a 30t ring on a 10t is the same as running a 33t on a 11t (ignoring you can't have odd numbered N/W)

30 up front on a 10-42 will give you more range and a fractionally harder smallest gear than 32 on 11-46, you can go 30t on the 11-46 but loose out on top end

Picking the front ring size is important too!

Just get a calculator out. Front/Back gives you the ratio pick what you like and what you feel will work.

Yep, all future stuff as I'll have to use 10 speed for the mo.
