I had a fine Sunday ride, but it was the first of the autumn where I stopped, got cold and shivery and it was dark before my train got me home. 🙂

she's only just back riding after a couple of months off with a broken wrist 🙁 But we wouldn't want anything to drop off with the cold would we ?

no, that's something other numbskulls trot out! I don't mind cold, and I don't mind wet, but if you get them together they can be so horrible sometimes it's just no fun (particularly if it's windy too). I suppose if you piled on enough kit you might mitigate it a little, but apart from the physical discomfort, everything looks so drab and it seems to seep into your soul, and if you're wrapped up like a flippin eskimo you might as well be indoors.

yes of course - but in winter I do carry some longs just in case. I did once get hypothermia on Helvellyn after having to stop to fix a puncture. I couldn't concentrate or see properly 🙁 The others were wearing far more stuff than me and they were if anything colder

Next you'll be telling us that Matt was suffering from heat exhaustion and his shortened day out was nothing to do with the previous night's tipple. 😆
