I currently use a Giro Chronicle which I really like but when I have my light mounted on it there is definitely more helmet movement. I've been using an Ay Up light and with the lamp on top and battery mounted on the back the movement hasn't been too bad as the two items being separated they seem to balance each other out so the amount of movement isn't too bad. But it's time to replace the Ay Ups and I've just bought an Exposure Axis and although I've yet to test it properly it feels like it'll move the helmet a bit more noticeably. Is this a thing with MIPS type systems? Anybody else noticed this? Any helmets that work well with something mounted on them?
Bell Super Air R is fine with an Axis, no noticeable movement.
However the mount is right on the top of your head, so the visor casts a shadow. A bar light fills it in, but you don't quite get the depth perception benefit of having two lights covering that area. Also obviously the shadow is still there when you look in a different direction to your bars.
