So it was said in the past that the tread of old Maxxis tyres didn't come up to width. However the newish HR II and DHR II do come up to size. It was my understanding that the Maxxis 'relaunched' the DHF in 2013 in 2.3 and 2.5 and I wondered if they are now the proper size as well?
The 2.3 sizes quite accurately, the 2.5 is more like a big 2.35 - it's bigger than the 2.3, though not by a huge amount. Still fits in a RS Revelation or Pike in 26" anyway. The 2.35 DHF is more like a big 2.1 btw.
Well I wonder what 2.7 DHF and 2.4 CM at the rear would be like...
2.5 DHF EXO measure 61mm at their widest point mounted to Arch Ex with 30psi.
Think the new 2.3 are around 58mm but can't confirm it.
I got a "2.5" off CRC, dunno what year it was but it is a big 2.35 but is UNBELIEVABLE for blutac like stickiness.
If the 2.7 IS accurate, I can imagine yer front will look fatbikey.
As others have said the width of the 2.5 is more like a 2.35 but height is very much 2.5 i.e. its a high profile tyre taller than a 2.4 Schwalbe for example
I think my HR2 Rear 2.4 is wider than my 2.5 Exo DHF Minion.
