New component on the bike utilises Torx T10. I've plenty of options for working at home but I'm looking for something smaller to carry on the bike. On bike tool is normally an OneUp EDC v2.
In a perfect world, someone would point me towards a little adapter that would sit on the end of the T25 on the multi tool. Failing that, what's the smallest packable tool I could carry on the bike?
For absolute minimalist size, maybe a little T10 bit for a drill/driver. Cut a slot in the end that normally goes in the drill and use your flathead screwdriver to turn it.
Faffy but tiny. If that's actually a good idea will depend on a) how much torque this component needs b) how accessible it is and c) how often you're likely to need this!
Would work fine for something like a brake bleed screw (only thing I can think of with a screw that small)
I think that's one of the sizes on the little two ended tool that comes with retail SRAM brakes - will check. Â Have a load of them kicking about (and is what I carry to cover the sizes that aren't on my multi tool)
If you have ever owned a Reverb you will probably have a fairly dinky T10/T25 L key. Â Don't know whether it will fit the OneUp capsule though
Edit: Probably the same as the ones mentioned above ^ that come with the brakes and I bet the T10 is on the long side of the L so the short side could be trimmed to make it smaller while still leaving something for leverage
^^^ (as per b33k3r, though probably the post above too)Â was my first thought, they come in T25/10 flavour, but other than getting them with brake, they always seems to be sold for stupid money SRAM Avid Disc Brake Bleed & Rotor Torx Wrench Tool T25 T10
they always seems to be sold for stupid money
Don't pay stupid money for one, I'm sure I have a couple spare if it is what you are looking for
It's for the pad retaining pin, bleed screw for lever and caliper, securing lever pivots, reservoir cap, reach adjustment and lever clamp.
Most of those are not needed in the trail, but lever clamp could be useful in the event of an off and reach and pad pin might also be useful.
@Rubber_Buccaneer thank you, I might well take you up on that.
If your LBS has a workshop anything like mine they'll have dozens of the things lying around.
Not sure if it’s universal, but the T10 on my Hopes are the security ones with a small peg in the centre of the bolt head.
I was going to order a full set of Wera security torx keys, but found a seller on eBay selling single keys.
Good thought but these are not the security type. Compared to the Hope, they're reservoir Screws, not the piston retaining plate.
Could a T10 hex drive bit be gripped by the chain-breaker tool?
Pretty sure the Topeak Alien comes with a T10 Adaptor that slips onto the the T8. Does this meet your need?

If it did, that would be ideal, but I can't get your link to work.
I see the Alien X has a T10, but that looks like a dedicated tool rather than an adapter.
